a commonly used excuse with a notable issue. white played just as many snaps as his backup did against south florida. his backup accounted for more offense in that game getting the same number of snaps. the "pat white was injured" excuse doesn't fly. Really, it's a strawman against Pitt as well.

I don't understand how this wasn't the game that defined WVU's 2007 season. It kept them from playing tOSU in the title game, and they probably wouldn't have lost their head coach if he would have been coaching in the BCS Title game (Miles would most likely be at TSUN if WVU had beaten Pitt - I'm mentioning that since this is the TSUN thread ).

Sorry guys, but I have replayed both these games in my mind with White not getting hurt - and WV won them both.

I couldn't find any mention of this or Troy's thread (or this one), but wasn't Troy very close to going to WVU?

If I remember correctly they offered him as a QB, and we offered as Athlete. I may have WVU confused with a different school.

If the above is true, it should be remembered as Tressel's first head to head recruiting victory over RR. Not an insignificant one at that.:)

So are you saying RR doesn't need a superman athlete a la Terrelle Pryor or Pat White at quarterback in order to run his offense? :wink2:
