Yeah because the only way to measure a play is a handful of plays in an All-Star game. Good call.
Congrats on getting banned again.

And it wasn't just handful of plays, that little smurf got beat like he stole something all game long.

Besides, that wasn't the point I was trying to make.

Now you know why your dipshit ass is banned...the kid finally faces the level of talent that he'll face his next 3-4 years and you blow it off like it doesn't matter.

He looked bad in the game, because he played in a style of defense that is not suited to him. Boubacar's best ability is to jam up recievers at the line of scrimmage and run with him. He has the speed and strength to do that. However in the US Army AA Game, you can't press cover any WRs. You had to stay in a base Cover 2 or Cover 3 look. In High School he was a physical in your face corner and never played zone. So when he got to the AA game, he played in a defense that's not suited to him and understandably he looked bad. It's kinda like asking 5'9 170 speed RB to pound it up the middle 30 times a game. Their just not suited for it.

At Michigan he's going to be on the line of scrimmage all the time bumping WRs, in a defense more suited to his ability. Sure I was disappointed that Cissoko didn't do good in zone coverage in that game, but I knew: 1) He was a defense not suited for him and biased towards the offense 2) He's going to be playing in a defense that stresses different things then what he had to play in in the AA Game. It was just part of that game. He'll be fine here at Michigan.

As usual, you bring up valid points. My backhand of SNIPER was due more to his recent antics of simply arguing against anyone making comments against UM players/recruits.

Thank you, that's actually something I try not to do lol. I read this thread whenever somebody posts and laugh at things sometimes, but I have to always remember this is an Ohio State board so I just refrain from saying anything. I just try to keep it positive.

The AA game does favor the offense considerably, however I'm not sure Cissoko would succeed checking Floyd at the line.
No he didn't.
That's one of the few problems I think Cissoko will have. His greatest strength is jamming a WR up at the line and a big flanker might negate it. However in Army All American practice vs 6-6 208 DeAndre Brown he dogged him the whole week of practice, winning many of the 1 on 1 battles. On the few occasions Brown avoided the jam Cissoko stuck to him, so I'm not sure what to believe in my assessment of him. I think maybe the perfect type of WR, with a big body (6-3 200 or so) and great speed (4.4 or better) will give him problems, but he'll be able to hold his own in college. A name you guys should be well acquainted with, Antoine Winfield is the best comparison for Cissoko. Similar bodies at 5'9 180 for Winfield and 5'8 171 for Cissoko, physical, great speed, and their both not afraid to hit.

To be clear, it wasn't the contrary opinion but the tone that gets people into trouble. HailtoMichigan spent weeks stubbornly defending Rodriguez with opinions that baffled many OSU fans, but he kept it pretty civil throughout, and so there was no complication.

Then I look forward to him turning in a lights out game in 3 years which no one notices (outside of scouts), as the opposing team clinches a victory, rose bowl berth, & a heisman :p

I just wonder how Brown's technique is. If you are a receiver with good technique you can beat a stronger corner off the press fairly easily. I haven't watched any film on Brown at all, so I don't know what to make of it.

Was Cissoko matched up on Posey at all?

And for the record, I hereby crown Cissoko's nickname as Bozo.

Well Brown is 6'6 208, so you might be able to say he's uncoordinated since he's so tall and lanky. For my HS team this year I was 6-2 150 and I'm the most uncoordinated person you'll ever meet. I couldn't get off a bump for the life of me but when they didn't bump me I just went over the top for jump balls. As for the Posey-Cissoko matchup, if it did happened I haven't heard much about it, we'll get a crash course in the next year or two :tongue2:

OSU & MSU are getting off to a fast start. Rodriguez had to play a little catchup, but will this trend continue.

'09 MI stud RB Edwin Baker says MSU leads... UM has a lot of catchup to do. MSU, UGA, Tex, Tenn, Purd recruiting the hardest (all but Tenn have offered).

Whatever the excuse (transition, locking down '08, system fit, etc), UM has not devoted much time to a number of local stars (Caper, Baker, Justin Turner). MSU meanwhile is working tirelessly, and reaping the benefits with in-state interest and even one standout verbal thus far: '09 MI LB Chris Norman (Michigan State Verbal)
Just got a PM that Baker may drop for Sparty soon... Dantonio sure is picking up steam in '09 after a lackluster '08 recruiting season.

They also recently landed Donald Spencer from Ypsilanti. Not sure if he's a UM caliber guy.

Well there are a few reasons for one. 1) This is a great year for running back in the state of Michigan. So even under Lloyd Carr UM wouldn't be able to get all of these fine RBs to come here, and 2) We have 5 RBs (including incoming) Other teams that have needs for RB have the leads for backs such as Capers and Jackson. With Norman, it was just Dantonio being aware of the fact that Lloyd was retiring so he worked feverishly in Detroit to establish connections so he can have an upper hand, for once, over Michigan. He's reaping the benefits from it early, and Michigan is catching up as you said.

Once players see RR can win, beat MSU, and establish rapport with all the local coaches,we'll be back to getting the top in-state players that we should be getting. One thing RR has already done to establish himself in this state is start up his traditional Spring Football Coaches Clinic. In addition to the usual college coaches, he has invited any HS coach in Michigan and the surrounding areas to attend. That's a smart move on his part to establish himself in Michigan.

As for Donald Spencer I heard he was a type who could earn a scholarship if he came to the Camp and performed well, but he was going to be a 2nd tier recruit for us. WR targets we had ahead of him were Josh Gordon, Josh Jones, James Jackson, Shawney Kersey, and Fritz Rock just to name a few.

ChisAto the following comment are not directed towards you.

Most Michigan fans were mocking the Dantonio hire. Newsflash!! Hes gonna be a thorn in your asses. He should have beaten Michigan this year. When he filters out the John L. Smith troublemakers he is gonna have a hell of a squad. Zook, Tress, and Dantonio are gonna be serious thorns in the ass for RR.

The biggest problem with a team like Michigan is that they rely on OOS recruiting too much. Alot of coaches in Michigan cannot stand Michigan because they dis the players in their own state. Dantonio is gonna get more than his share in Michigan. Dantonio(the rumor anyways) is getting to know every coach in the state personally. This is gonna go a long way down the road.

State almost beat us alot of times! We have one of the top 10 coaches in CFB now, and for you to say all these coaches are going to be a thorn in our side, but our coach not a thorn in yours or the rest of the Big Ten is ridiculous. BTW, the number 1 player in the state is committed to us.

DickRod wasn't on my top-10 list when he was at WVU and he's not now. He runs an impressive offense, but he is not a great gametime coach. Never was.
