2007 Preseason and Regular season Polls

We've moved up 2 spots (to #16) in Dennis Dodd's rankings in the last 5 weeks. He obviously adjusted his rankings after seeing my initial post in this thread. :tongue2:

11-15 sounds about right. I don't think we're a top 10 team at the start of the season, but our initial ranking shouldn't keep us out of a BCS game if we keep winning. And to think we started off ranked 8th in 2004 pre-season polls after losing 14 players to the draft...

Sorry, but Michigan at #3 is a total joke. They lost seven starters on a defense that gave up 26 to Ball State, 42 to Ohio State, and 32 to USC over their last four games.

I tend to agree but they are getting that high of a ranking due to the same reason Ohio State got theirs last year. While I dont think they have the defensive history we have had over the last few years I also dont think that our returning offense last year is going to be as highly revered in the offseason as Michigans this year.

I like lucky number 13. We started there in '02 and things turned out pretty well. 13 or higher to start the season and the rest will fall into place by November. I'd love to see another undefeated OSU/scum game this year.

I don't know about that... Our offense I think was much more talked about than Michigans. Unlike Michigan who only has Manningham, we had a 5 wide set last year that was trouble for any secondary (besides U of F). I think Michigan at #3 is a joke. Top 10 maybe, but not top 5

They'll have no more Arrington maybe due to suspension, they still lost 2 starters on the o-line, Grady is out for the year with an knee injury, They have no punt/kick returner. The only thing Michigan has going for them is Henne, Hart, and Long. With Hart's injury history I wouldn't doubt that he gets banged up and Michigan really struggles. I'm going to call 9-4

They'll lose to OSU, Penn State, wisconsin, and then whoever they play in the bowl game.

Going into last year we didn't know what we were getting at WR either. Ginn and Gonzo were EXPECTED to be good but Roy Hall had underachieved and the rest unproven.

As a matter of fact, Manningham is held in a higher regard at WR than any OSU WR was going into last year.

Hart will be given more press than Pittman.

OSU lost a couple starters on the Oline as well (1st Round Mangold and I think 4th Round Sims).

Again, I'm not saying I think they are 3, I'm actually saying I agree that is high. I'm just trying to explain why they might be precieved as that high.

I've gotta say Golic's, despite his 'homer' pick at #9, and not having tOSU in there.

Greenburg has 3 Big East teams in the Top-10, which is pretty bad.
