Whoa! Wait a minute! I have one of those and it may be a dirty job it does, but it's a useful thing. Dodd on the other hand...

They could very well be a four loss team when they leave Los Angeles the second time, maybe worse.

At UCLA, but the USC game is in South Bend.

Or are you forecasting a 9-3 ND team going to the Rose Bowl? :wink2:

Well, then Michigan is overrated virtually every year then... :roll1:

If the blogs were still up, you could easily link to the evidence of Michigan being consistently over rated.... I'll see if I can find the link I used for that information...

Not exactly what I was looking for, but you can get a lot of info Here Note in 2006 that Notre Dame was rated 16 spots too high.

Here's the evidence that Michigan is consistently overrated: http://preseason.stassen.com/over-under/all-teams.html

According to that site, they've been the 3rd most overrated team in the preseason rankings, since the 90's. Notre Dame is the most overrated, not surprisingly. Texas is 2nd. It surprised me that Clemson has been that consistently overrated, given that they are a program that doesn't seem worthy of getting the benefit of the doubt. OSU is surprisingly not that overrated for a team that's given the benefit of the doubt much more often than not.

Washington State has been the most underrated team in college football since the 90's. My Badgers were 6th, which somewhat supports the lack of respect claims a lot of my fellow Badger football fans have made.

Look closely and you'll see that TSUN and Texas are tied for second.

Dennis Dodd has tOSU at #18 - behind TCU and Rutgers.

cbs.sportsline

1. USC
2. TSUN
3. West Va.
4. LSU
5. Florida
6, Wisconsin

Cont'd ...
Gators are so overrated in this poll it is almost funny. We lose 9 defensive players (our defense won the title last year, not our offense) and a senior qb. Tebow has a huge upside, but it will all be on his shoulders. He won't have the luxury of playing only in third and two. Then again, the way you reloaded on defense last year gives me hope. But #5 ????? Nonsense.

You at 18 will work itself out. Just win, and the vast majority of teams ahead of you will fold down the stretch. But it is a concern if you are so low that you peak at number 3. Pity the next undefeated Auburn.

I agree with this. If you look at the SEC season I dont think U of F scored more than 28 on anyone. Alot of their points were because of field position their defense set up. tOSU's defensive game plan allowed Florida to look like the 89 49'rs. I think 08 and 09 you will see the effects of Tebow and the reload job meyer has done in recruiting in the defense but next year I think they loose a couple.

Personally I see 18th as a bit low for the Buckeyes and I agree that UF fans may see 4th as a much lower than deserved ranking. That being said, I am happy to see someone else saddle the heat with being the "Target" team. We can start wherever they decide and work our way up through the other teams as they drop off.
