2007 Preseason and Regular season Polls

No, it just means the SEC is so tough, that it is impossible to come out of the conference unscathed. :roll1:

In fact, a new rule should be made to prevent SEC teams from playing each other because it is unfair to subject these kids to such a tough schedule year in year out.

In all seriousness I wish people would bring up how we lost 1 game in 1998 in a tough B10(conference went 5-0 in Bowls games that year) while UT made it through a weaker SEC and FSU. Sometimes the "best" team never gets a chance to play for it. Thats just the way it is.

I never did hear of an apology to the CFB world from the SEC that year or of any plans for UT to give the trophy back because they "knew" they weren't really the best team.

I would prefer to play LSU but if we end up pounding freakin Kansas I don't give a shit.

not a poll but some small measure of respect from a national media type.

Winners & Losers: Cocktail Party cleanup

...........

Winners: Ohio State
So the Bucks roll into a very difficult road environment against a stout defense, playing a first-year quarterback who has never experienced such madness.
And don't punt once.
OK, OK, I'm in now. There, I said it.
For two months I've been holding the horrible Big Ten and that meltdown to Florida in last year's championship game against Ohio State. I can do so no longer.
After flying nearly 10 hours from Portland to Orlando, I turned on the DVR and watched the game a day late. I was jetlagged and groggy, but quickly came to this reality: Todd Boeckman gets better with every game.
Ohio State throws downfield more with Boeckman than it did with last year's Heisman winner Troy Smith. The Bucks are more physical in the running game with Beanie Wells, and that experienced offensive line is redeeming itself (from last year's Florida game) with each snap. Ohio State is No.1; there is no question.

I like it better when they just parrot the company line that our Bowl loss last year defined our program and entire conference for all time.

Interesting little tool to quickly pull up who voted on what - PollSpeak.com

Sadly it only works with the non-BCS AP Poll.

A great deal less irritating than the files held at ap's dynamic hosted site.

Only 6 AP voters have us less than #1

Joe Giglio , Neal McCready , Stewart Mandel , Tommy Trujillo , Austin Ward all have us as #2.

Jon Wilner west coast fruit and or nut that he is has us 5th.

EDIT
Ward has us #3

-Also Herbie has a serious love affair with his SEC friends

-Both Herbie and Fowler are not big fans of BC.

I think a lot of voters are hedging Georgia hoping to plug them into the NC if LSU falters and the dogs wins the SEC.

Losers: South Florida

Look at 'em, everyone: they're all jumping off the Bulls' bandwagon faster than you can say Grothe.

Three weeks ago: No. 2 in the nation.

Monday morning: Hello, Meineke Car Care Bowl.

Hey, the Bulls still are the best team in Florida. If that means anything anymore.
Ouch

Lets be fair here.

LSU has a 17 vote lead on Oregon and 1 less 1st place vote.

We have a 100 vote lead on LSU and a 54 1st place vote lead.

As was brought up in another thread, the real fireworks are going to come for that #2 spot if we win out bewteen OU, OU and LSU. If Kansas wins out god help us all, the SEC fans will try and secede from the union again and, using hindsight from the last time, I say we let them go.

How about this scenario: An undefeated Kansas team (most likely in the top 5) plays a one loss OK team in the Big XII Championship Game. Would the winner of that game get the #2 spot over LSU?
