2007 Preseason and Regular season Polls

I think we will be just fine when the polls come out later today. The line on last night's game was only 4 points. We won convincingly by anyone's standards.

I heard Flutey's remarks yesterday, the little twerp. Earlier this year LSU manhandled Virginia Tech 48-7. Only the little twerp would think BC's win was impressive. BC was held scoreless for over 57 minutes.

Oregon should be the big winner in the polls. Even though they beat a great
name rather than a great team in USC. USC lost to a 40 point underdog, and struggled against both Washington, and Arizona leading up to yesterdays game.

In any event,we will be a solid #1 so everyone else can kiss our ass.:oh:

Not unless they're a former Buckeye, such as Herbie & Robert Smith
Lou Holtz thinks we are a solid Jim Tressel ball club, and Desmond Howard thinks Todd Boeckman is a Heisman candidate.

Aside from those two, not really. I mean, Corso picked us, for once...

As far as the polls go the thing I'm waiting to see is if an undefeated ASU doesn't start to take some votes away, and if they keep it up, eventually jump a 1-loss LSU. At this point they are ranked high enough I'd say that LSU needs both BC and ASU to lose to make the NC game, assuming OSU wins out of course.

Also, if Kansas somehow comes out of the B12 undefeated(anything's possible) that could really hurt LSU.

All that said there won't be 4 undefeated teams but then again this year is so odd, it wouldn't completely shock me.

I agree. I think that there's a lot very, very wrong with the system if a 1-loss team makes the BCS national championship game before an undefeated team. Arizona State and Kansas ought to start stealing votes from LSU, and possibly jumping them.

As for Ohio State, the only way, I think, that they lose the #1 spot is with a loss. In the words of so many people (probably started by one guy, but I don't know who), "Just win, Baby!"

Edit: SanAntonioBuck says that the quote goes to Al Davis. Thanks, SABuck.

So if you look at it there are really 6 "slots" left for the 2 spots in the NC game:

1. OSU -we know the 3 remaining games, we control our own destiny
2. BC- 4 winnable games(2 home 2 away) +ACC CG vs VT/UVA winner(I think). They control their fate but 5 games left is 5 games left.
3. LSU -@ Bama, SECG vs UT most likely also Arkansas. Thats the easiest remaining road of the big boys but they have 1 loss.
4. ASU and Oregon have an elimination game this week. ASU wins and they will start to get past LSU in the polls.
5. Kansas, Mizzou and OU all can only come out to 1 winner. If it should happen to be KU that will also really hurt LSU.
6. WVU -easiest schedule but I don't think the nation takes them seriously. That USF loss is getting worse and worse.

I still think it ends up OSU vs LSU on 1/8/08 but BC being able to run the ACC table won't suprise me. How bad would a BC vs Kansas NC game be for college football?

BC got a 1st place vote, LSU got 3, Arizona State got 2, we got 59.

It's noted that Ohio State gained 2 1st place votes (57 to 59), Boston College lost 1 (2 to 1), LSU lost 2 (5 to 3), and Arizona State gained 1 (1 to 2).

Edit - Changed number of 1st place votes for Ohio State. Thanks, daveeb.

Fixed.

I guess that is one way of looking at it, especially since there are still 4 Major Undefeated Teams, and a ton of SEC bias.

Should be obvious to all that the SEC has a lot of mediocre teams.
And what does it say when 3 loss Kentucky beats the "Best Team in America? "

No, it just means the SEC is so tough, that it is impossible to come out of the conference unscathed. :roll1:

In fact, a new rule should be made to prevent SEC teams from playing each other because it is unfair to subject these kids to such a tough schedule year in year out.
