2007 Preseason and Regular season Polls

It's useful for historical comparisons. For example, tOSU has been voted #1 89 times, second to ND and Oklahoma, both with 95.

And when something like TSUN dropping out of the poll after being #5, the AP poll is the one used to see how many times something like that has happened before.

Okay. I'll buy into that.

Once OSU passes ND and Oklahoma, THEN I'll cease to care. :tongue2:

While it is questionable that a large number of people actually believed it, quite a few talking heads and writers (like Stewie Mandel) defended their rankings this week by claiming that USF has the best defense in the country.

The best defense just gave up more points to The State University of New Jersey than Ohio State has given up to ANY THREE TEAMS we've played.

Good call guys. Next time you want to say something just to get a rise out of people, try making it something that won't shoot your credibility to hell before the weekend arrives.

And try not to disrespect Ohio State when your top team is about to lose to a team with two losses and ranked about the same as Purdue in the computer power ratings. College Football Ranking Comparison

Still not sold on South Florida. The national trend has been for these "contender" teams to lose again to the team they lost to last year - familiarity. The Bulls have yet to play Rutgers, Cincinnati and Lousiville... the conference teams they lost to last year. This year they play @Rutgers and @Louisville and Cincinnati is tough anywhere. USF beat West Virginia last year... at West Viriginia but lost four other games with basically the same team.

I'll give myself some love. One more thing, by the time we play Michigan our Big Ten title will have been wrapped up and we will play a 2 loss team for the national championship. It willl be the most meangingless Michigan game ever.

espin.com on the bottom right of the home page has a poll. "will osu remain undefeated". its 78 to 22 against us right now, 49 states to 1. guess what though. there is one state that disagrees. hmmm, Ohio maybe?

So, 78% of the country doesn't like tOSU? Sounds about right.

As if polls like that matter, especially this year. They do polls like that all the time and end up being wrong. Noone expected Ohio State to even be # 1 at all this year. The country has to get to the point to not expect anything. What happened to USC and Oklahoma running the table? LSU beating Kentucky? Cal having a shot at the title. Ohio State rebuilding and NOT having a chance this year? Expect the unexpected.

-Interesting thing today is if the human polls go
OSU
BC
LSU
How close LSU gets to BC for #2?

-Illinois Zooking last night helps us in the long run, tsun will get all the comeback love and be ranked higher when we play. All the media hype that was going to be slathered all over UI untill they remembered who they are will now go to tsun.
