We're closer to 6th than we are to 9th regardless - the point gap is closing fast. Florida and LSU will most likely play each other twice, since they both appear to be mortal locks to run the table outside of their first game against each other. However, neither looked as dominant against mid to lower-tier SEC teams as they had in their past OOC games. Texas is going to drop a game somewhere, not to mention they're looking like dead men walking when they play Oklahoma. As for the Sooners, despite the lopsided score against Tulsa, Tulsa played them great for about 3 quarters, and there were some really bad bounces that went Oklahoma's way. I caught most of that game, and was really impressed by Tulsa, even though they were ultimately blown out. I saw a lot of holes in Oklahoma's D.MililaniBuckeye;938118; said:Three teams currently above us are guaranted to lse a game this year because they play someone else currently above us: USC at Cal, Florida at LSU, and Texas vs. Oklahoma. If we keep winning we're guaranteed to crack the top 5.
Between our championship game performance last year, and the creampuff OOC schedule this year, however, I think we're going to need A LOT of help if we're shooting for anything higher than the auto-bid to the Rose Bowl. I think we're going to need some of the teams ahead of us to drop two games, not just one. We're going to get murdered on the SOS equation in the computer polls.
Luckily, teams 1-4, despite looking so dominant in their early games, all have traps in their schedules that could open the door.
