Im not trying to say our Defense is great, because they are not....but my god, they are not the worst defense in the conference, let alone the world as some people make it out to be. Our defense is greatly improved now then it was through 4 games last year. This year, we have 15 sacks, last year we had ZERO through 4 games....so theres an improvement....But Jax, since you know WVU better than I do, Im sure you already knew that....

I said I think your team is a fucking fraud because the defense sucks and gave you my reasons why. You think they are good because they put up so so numbers vs a bunch of pathetic teams. Their track record in previous years has been that of a vastly overrated team. Time will tell who's right.

Like I said, if they come out of Tampa Friday with a W I'll start to reconsider my opinion but as of right now I think they are nothing special.

Bang on about the D. I mean, Ryan Mundy plays for them, hence their defense automatically drops down about 10 notches in my book. A man so good in coverage he had a new defensive category named after him: Yards after Mundy.

I'm not going to sit here an argue that OSU isnt as good on offense as they were last year, because I dont know them like you know them. You follow WVU on what you see on ESPN and what everyone around you thinks of them. (Which I doubt many people care for WVU around you) I follow WVU every day by local newspapers, evening news, local sports talk shows every evening, seeing them in person, etc. Again, our defense isnt great, but it isnt piss poor.

I'm not angry, I use the word fuck in nearly every sentence I utter.

As far as up close and personal knowledge, I don't need to know every minute detail of your team. I know enough about football to watch a game and tell if one team has slow, unathletic defenders who struggle with missed assignments and tackling regardless of who that team may be. I usually chalk it up to a bad game untill I see it again, once can be a coincidence-twice is a trend. Sometimes an outsider has a better perspective than the hardcore fan.

I think WVU is a decent team but there is no way in hell they belong in the conversation with USC/LSU/UF and OU right now.

Jax, if you recall the USF game last year, it wasnt our defense that lost us the game. Our offense was nowhere to be found. I give USF credit for that.....Right now, I say the top 4 are better than us, but how exactly do you know that we couldnt compete with them? Since you like talking about the past couple seasons, remember the Sugar Bowl when we were 500 pt underdogs and didnt belong on the same field as the SEC champ? We didnt do too bad that game. If we played OU, they may win, but who knows unless we played. I never would have thought App State would have beat Michigan, but thats the beauty of College Football.

I'll give you OU, they may well indeed be the pretenders they were in '03 and '04 again this year and sadly enough, no one will know untill they get to a Bowl game. The B10 is bad this year, the B12 may be worse.

My contention is that defense is the best measure of national title contenders. :tongue2:
A team like WVU(ranked 15th in total defense) is not a top five team.

I dont think LSU will lose to UF in Baton Rouge, and they are much more talented than every other team on their schedule. I think they run the table.

I think OU will beat Texas in the RRS and not have another close game after that, Nebraska is overrated, as is A&M.

I dont think OSU loses a game this year. PSU at night will be tough, but we are much better. Wisky isn't that good, and we all know if you stop Mike Hart you stop tSUN. I dont see us losing a game this season. But I am a homer.

As for USC, you really think that USC can win every game when it has to go @ Cal, @ Oregon, @ Washington, and @ ASU, along with UCLA at home? I think they come out of there with 1 loss.

UF will lose at LSU and probably run the table after that, but at Georgia and at SCe will be very tough.

Team to keep an eye on is Oregon. They get Cal, USC, and ASU at home, and their only tough road game remaining is @ Washington.
