'12 PA RB Rushel Shell (Pitt Signee; Transfer to West Virginia)

Didn't realize he had an option. I thought his baby-mama was in Pittsburgh.

That wouldnt likely affect his decision if the SEC was his destination. I am SURE that babymama and her family would have no problem finding nice coushy jobs allowing them all to relocate with him anywhere in the booming metropolis south of the mason-dixon.

Re: The former Pitt running back has narrowed the choices for his eventual destination to West Virginia, Ohio State and Kentucky, according to his mother, Toni Zuccaro.

Very interesting....

A guy with a purported bad work ethic thinking about coming to play for Urban.....sure that will work out well.....

There is no way that he ends up here. UK and WVU are logical choices, but Ohio State? C'mon...

I do not know Mr. Shell nor do I know the details of what transpired at Pitt that lead to him leaving the school (and team) and not being allowed to return.

Just sayin': The great coaches like Urban Meyer (Woody Hayes & Jim Tressel too) get as much (or maybe even more) personal satisfaction out of developing the student athlete's character (and preparing them for life after football) than getting the maximum out of them on the football field. If you don't believe this, read Urban's book, i.e. Urban's Way". Some kids are good kids that just make a bad decision and/or get involved with the wrong crowd; and some kids are the wrong crowd. If in Urban's evaluation he feels that Rushel Shell is basically a "good kid", I could see him being receptive to giving Rushel a second chance and welcoming him to Ohio State. Most good kids will learn their lesson and straighten out after one bad incident; and Rushel could be in that category. Needless to say with others (think #13 here) it could take several years in prison before that happens.

With our depth, the fact that the QB and pivot will see the ball in rushing instances would seem to make us an unfavorable attraction for shell. We have so much RB talent that we're fine without him. He'd be better off at UK, or a MAC school where he could be the primary ball carrier.
