Why is it necessary for the NCAA to release a statement on this? Can they release one for the previous 4 fouls that went on Ohio State?

I know right? Seriously in game where calls are missed and incorrect all game long, why are they still talking about one call? Move on people...nothing more to see here.

The Iowa State fans aren't even complaining this bad. It's all the teams that are worried about having to play us. Move on losers!!

Craft's feet were set in position before he was in the air.

Sorry for the quality, best video I could find. Craft straightens up some, but his feet stay in the same spot and therefore has position on the guy before he was in the air. It was really close.

Craft isn't really set yet, and even as he took the charge his feet were moving a ton. That's the reason his heel wasn't planted.

We can debate this all day long though. I don't think it was a charge, and his heel was clearly above the cemi-circle meaning it was a block.

I don't care...that call off-set the BS we dealt with all game long. The fact is, we couldn't box out, or play tough man defense without getting called for fouls. It allowed ISU to shoot threes all day long.

The calls evened out. We won. Greg Anthony has this one nailed.

About the charge, the official who made the call could not have seen Craft's right leg because of where he was standing. There were iffy calls all game, and I thought ISU was on the benefit of a lot more of them in the second half. If the roles were reversed, I don't think people would be as upset if OSU was on the end of a controversial call.

It is a shame we had to play ISU because I really like them. That is a team that, had they not played OSU, we would all be rooting for them to make a deep run in the tournament. Their style is a lot of fun to watch, but miserable to root against. I am glad we won't see another team like them this tournament.

Personally, I think even that is debateable. Even if his feet were squarely outside the semi-circle, it's still a block to me. The offensive player had left his feet, and actually came really close to having the ball out of his hand when contact was made.

Maybe its just the Jay Bilas in me, but that should be a block, IMO. The player wasn't out of control, left his feet to convert the lay-up, and Craft slid into position from the weak-side and undercut him. I don't think Aaron was there in time, and I don't think Aaron even attempts that play in the first half. It was a desperation attempt at picking up the charge, and college officials suck at calling that play correctly. Officials truly throw a dart at a board when making charging calls.

BTW, one of the charges DeShaun picked up, was a clear block as well. Didn't stand in and take the charge at all, and was actually rolling his shoulder out of the way when he took it. Not squared up at all, and again the offensive player wasn't out of control. Just a bad interpratation on the play.

I think it was Sam who had a charge called against him today where he elevated for a jump shot and an ISU defender slid underneath him and gave him nowhere to land. He comes down and is called for a charge. Just complete garbage...

It's the most missed call in the game and really goes against the offesnive player way too much. It really sucks that they went to more of an NBA model as well, where players are rarely set, and just flop all over the place because there is very little downside to getting caught. Officials just check o see where the defenders feet are, and then make a call from there irregardless of whether the defensive player was in good position. It's straight trash....

I disgree on this one. The craft call was a 50/50 bang bang play. But aDeshaun was set and ready for a while. He turned his body instintually from conthe contact but don;'t think that should change the call. ISU could of been call for 2 or 3 more chagres. I disgree with your assesment that the offensive player is usually the wronged one. It's usually the offensive player jumping into contact while the defender holding his space is by far the worst called play.

Just glad the Bucks were able to get out of there with a win with the way the game was called. Way too many ticky tack fouls going against OSU, many on plays that it looked like had no effect on the ISU players. It's a big difference from the Big Ten to these guys. Thankfully the depth of the Bucks came through. With the way they shoot the 3, ISU was VERY dangerous.
