One day after announcing he was abandoning his 14-month commitment to Michigan, Detroit Cass Tech defensive tackle William Campbell attended the Wolverine’s home game against Miami (Ohio) and met with members of the coaching staff.
The 6-5, 315-pound Campbell was Michigan’s highest ranked recruit in their 2009 class - checking in at No. 17 on the Rivals.com top 100 list of prospects - before his de-commitment on Friday. He also had the longest standing commitment in the class, having issued his verbal pledge in June of 2007 after receiving an offer from then-head coach Lloyd Carr at Michigan’s summer football camp.

Five-star defensive tackle William Campbell of Detroit Cass Tech has de-committed from Michigan, leading to questions about the most likely school to get Campbell away from the Wolverines.

One wild-card team is Ohio State; it is believed Campbell would listen if the Buckeyes came calling. But the Buckeyes don't have much room left and are working hard on Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro defensive tackle Corey Adams. Could Ohio State drop Adams to pursue Campbell? Stay tuned.
