I forgot Adam Bellamy is also a DT, so Adams is 3,and Campbell would make 4.
I have to go with Wade on this one
It's never wise to set your sails of prediction contrary to the solid winds of prognostications of an esteemed BP guru like 45, and one of my personal favorites, I might add...thats tantamount to poster suicide. :)
Agree that Michigan is not going to take this lightly, by any stretch. Agree that Michigan would still have to be the strong favorite, and others, including Illinois & Miami, would have as good a chance as us, but...certainly don't think this is out of the question.
All I really care about is that we get Adams for sure! Thats A#1! I think he's a Buckeye, along with his dad, coming home, and thats a wonderful thing. And having the three that we would have w/Adams gives us a tremendous DT class, imo, probably number #1 DT class, too.
But Campbell did go to Gholston's high school. He's might have Gholston & Gholston's nephew talking him up, who knows. As far as an official offer, I don't think that tOSU or Campbell actually has to announce anything publicly if they don't want to, correct me if I'm wrong. Campbell doesn't have to state his school of choice until signing day, correct me if I'm wrong. And, if by chance its needed for precautionary reasons, Adams doesn't necessarily have to know about Campbell's offer, if necessary, correct me if I'm wrong, far fetched, I know. But, this is College football.
As far as making room, well, guys transfer, guys read the writing on the wall, guys take one for the team, etc. etc. Anything can and does happen in recruiting, we all see that. It seems as though, thats the least of the concerns. As they say, you MAKE room for a 5 star talent like Campbell. A hole plugger extraordinaire, a run stopper par excellence, in short, a real force inside.
Kids see that you can get to the NFL and even start in the NFL and not only not be a star in College, but not even start or even play. Brady, Cassel, etc. I understand that thats the extreme exception to the rule, but look how we've heard so much this week about USC's 'stable' of running backs and seemingly how content they all are with their role. This is a sales job I would like to see JT and staff aspire to, and I believe that they are well on their on their way toward that, given these last two classes.
I say, if we want Campbell....and Campbell wants to come, unlikely as it is, we have to go for it, stealth if necessary...as long as we get Adams in the process. Thats really all that matters.
