'09 MI DT William Campbell (Michigan Signee)

Some of these comments are way out of line...we do not bash kids here...period.

I don't care where he committed or how he acted...there are ways to discuss your take on his display without the bashing.

This recruiting forum has been getting loose lately with the language and now the bashing.

Clean it up guys.

D Line/ O Line

What is wrong with that? The competition would just make our team better also.

Exactly; there is an adage... a rising tide raises all boats.

The Big 10 stinks right now. Top to bottom the schedule OSU played in 2002 was much better than in 2006 and 2007. I believe part of the reason OSU won in 2002 is that they were tested much more. I am not looking for Michigan to be where USC is, just for them to be semi-respectable. So one great DT, against whom our O-Line can play is fine to me. I would like to see some better D Lines in the Big 10 so that our coaches and players can figure out how to be better than them so they don't end up with O-Line performances like against UF, LSU or USC.

Heck, they all do that now. That doesn't even bother me anymore.

Yup the whole going for one hat then switching thing isn't really a big deal. I didn't take it as a sleight to LSU at all.

Gotta say though, I have nothing bad to say about this kid, he looks like a man. Hard to believe he's 18-19, dude is jacked.

Big Willie Style is being moved to the o-line halfway through his career.

Defensive headliners from RR's 2009 class: Campbell, JT Turner, Craig Roh, and Anthony Lalota. Only Roh has panned out and Turner/Lalota are total whiffs.

....I'll pass. Adams is much more explosive, plays lower and has a better motor than Campbell. Not saying Campbell doesn't have potential, but I agree with Duane's assessment (when Bucknuts was free) that Campbell just doesn't look like a DT out there, and will probably end up on the OL someday like Joseph Barksdale. Adams, Hall then Campbell.

There is of course a coin flip element to recruiting but Duane Long does seem to get these things right more often than most. Kudos to WaitingforKickoff as well.

edit: By more often than most I'm referring to media and fans, not the coaches.
