Which was most definetly a shot...the WVU fans are ticked off and it shows in that last sentence. He was never firmly commited to WVU and thus we kept recruiting him. I don't know how they can't see that but oh well.

I agree, not to mention the continued interest from Josh's side. I am pretty confident JT would not have continued his recruitment of JJ had the verbal been firm and Josh hadn't expressed interest.

I agree with your point for the most part, but I really didn't perceive it to be a "shot" like a "shot" typically thrown at TOSU. I think it was however intended to make the Buckeye staff look like scum for pursuing a kid thats supposedly already made a decision, which is bull. Some of the best recruiting efforts come out after a kid has "verballed." We've lost Big Time kids on signing day that were our "verbals." Hell, we took Animal from Minnesota after he had given a verbal to them. With 17 and 18 year old boys, a "verbal" can mean nothing more than the fact that he really likes the school and the program and sees himself being happy there (unless somethng better comes along).

Joshs' situation, actually, is the perfect example of why you keep recruiting a kid. These coaching changes happen all the time. If TOSU had backed off of Josh months ago, where would they be today? They'd be one of 100 schools trying to open up the lines with Josh. Also, just because a kid might give a verbal to someone else, does it mean you just write him out of your life completely? These kids and coaches build relationships with one another, as do prospective recruits (See The Block-O). I truly believe that the Coaches really care about these guys, and checking in with a kid a few times a week just to see how things are going with him probably means alot to these players. Adding that you'd still love to have him can't hurt either.

Little Animal never committed to Minnesota. There was a rumor that he had but it was a false rumor. He never actually committed there.

Yes he did...ryan20 posted a link to a premium article which confirms that he did in fact pledge to Minnesota. Here is the link for those with premium access to Rivals:

As Dubl*Truble state, this thread is about Josh Jenkins...let's keep ths discussion there.

Josh's coach says tOSU and WVU are leading with FSU in third. tOSU's OL recruiting depth will not impact Josh's decision, FSU is promising him to start, and he is looking for stability in the staff.

Maybe I'm alone but I just don't think a staff should ever promise a recruit anything other than a fair opportunity...including OSU promising Devoe he would be only RB recruited. Sometimes things just don't work out on either end... (everyone simmer down now...that's not bashing anyone...just my 2cents)
