'08 WV OL Josh Jenkins (West Virginia Signee)

This comment of his might be the most telling of where he will end up: "* * * Removed "sky is falling" quote copied directly from a Rivals article * * *."

I think he's going to go to Florida State. It's obvious he wants to play right away and thinks it would be easier for him to do so at Florida State than at Ohio State. Yeah he wants to stay close to home, but that's only a small issue, I believe, because he may come to the realization that you will have to make decisions out of your comfort level sometime in your life.

I'd like to see him at Ohio State, but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to FSU based on what he's said.

Thank you for the inside info. I, for one, am a changed man.

Parkersburg?s Jenkins to play in All-American Bowl today
Game kicks off at 1 p.m.

By DAVE POE, Sports Editor POSTED: January 5, 2008

SAN ANTONIO, Texas ? Parkersburg High School All-American offensive guard Josh Jenkins will make his national television debut today when he participates in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The game, which will kickoff at noon Central time (1 p.m. Eastern), will be broadcast live by NBC.

Jenkins, a 6-foot-5, 305-pound lineman is the first West Virginia high school senior to be selected to play in the game, which pits the East All-Stars against the West All-Stars. The rosters are put together by national recruiting guru Tom Lemming.

Jenkins, a member of the East, will wear his familiar No. 77 for the game. The East is using a rotation system for its linemen so each can see action.

Jenkins, who recently pulled his previous verbal commitment to play football for West Virginia University, is one of 14 players on the East squad who have not made a college commitment. Of those 14, Jenkins and Shayne Hale, a 6-foot-3, 232-pound linebacker from Monroeville, Pa., are the only players who are considering West Virginia.

Jenkins solidifies status at U.S. Army All-American Bowl
By DAVE POE POSTED: January 6, 2008
"Jenkins solidifies status at U.S. Army All-American Bowl"

SAN ANTONIO, Texas ?Parkersburg High School lineman Josh Jenkins entered Saturday?s U.S. Army All-American Bowl as the No. 1 rated high school guard in the nation.

A member of the victorious East squad, which captured a 33-23 win over the West All-Stars, Jenkins solidified that lofty status with a solid performance in a game that featured 80 of the nation?s elite high school football players.

?Josh played extremely well,?? said PHS assistant coach Mark McCullough, who accompanied Jenkins to San Antonio along with Big Red head coach Bernie Buttrey. ?Coach Buttrey and I were both very proud of him.??

Jenkins also expressed great pleasure in his performance.

?It was a great experience and I played up to my expectations,?? he said following the game in the Alamodome. ?I went up against the top two defensive tackles in the nation and I played great against them.??

Although several of the all-stars announced their college commitments during the game, Jenkins remains uncommitted.

He had given his verbal commitment to West Virginia University during his junior season, when Rick Trickett was the line coach and Rich Rodriguez was WVU?s head coach.

After Rodriguez announced his resignation, Jenkins decided to pull his commitment and explore other options. He has visits scheduled to both Florida State ? where Trickett is the offensive line coach ? and Pittsburgh later this month. He?s also giving serious consideration to Ohio State, which never stopped recruiting him despite his verbal commitment to WVU.

I'm guessing he's referring to the comment about OSU continuing to recruit him even while he was a WVU commit.

Which was most definetly a shot...the WVU fans are ticked off and it shows in that last sentence. He was never firmly commited to WVU and thus we kept recruiting him. I don't know how they can't see that but oh well.
