jazzman;1041661; said:A line with Josh Jenkins along with Brewster, Adams and Shugarts is gonna be downright unfair! Not to mention Connor Smith! It's like an NFL calibre line for the next 3-4 years. My mom could play QB with a line like that and win the Heisman!
Jenkins All-American Bowl bound
By DAVE POE POSTED: December 29, 2007
PARKERBSURG ? When Parkersburg High School senior lineman Josh Jenkins leaves for San Antonio this morning to become the first West Virginia player to compete in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, he will do so as a bonafide all-American.
On Thursday, Jenkins was named a first team all-America selection by USA Today. It?s just the latest in a series of honors for the most decorated player in the 103-year history of Parkersburg High School.
He?s the second Big Red to earn first team all-state status three straight years. Only Jenkins and the legendary Ross McHenry ? who went on to star at West Virginia University and came back to Parkersburg and served as the head coach of the Big Reds ? have achieved that accomplishment.
He recently was named the winner of the Hunt Award, given annually to the state?s top lineman. That makes Jenkins the first two-time winner of the prestigious award. His selection by the all-state football committee was unanimous.
While no lineman ever has won the Kennedy Award, presented annually to the state?s top high school football player, Jenkins managed to place fifth in that balloting behind two running backs and two quarterbacks.
Plus, for more than a year he has been the subject of perhaps the biggest recruiting battle ever waged over a West Virginia high school player.
Jenkins can take his pick of the nation?s elite programs. Last year, he made his pick when he verbally committed to West Virginia University. But the departures of head coach Rich Rodriguez and offensive line coach Rick Trickett have left Jenkins feeling uneasy about his choice, so he recently pulled his verbal commitment and while he still is considering WVU, he?s also looking at other schools, namely Ohio State, Florida State and Pittsburgh.
Why has Jenkins received personal visits from Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis and recruiting coordinators from major programs too numerous to mention?
His high school coach, Bernie Buttrey, explains it best.
?Believe it or not, there are a lot of football players out there who are 6-foot-5 and weigh 300 pounds,?? Buttrey said. ?God may have made him 6-5 and 300 and given him athletic ability, but Josh has worked hard both in the weight room and on the field to become one of the best players in the country. We could see his first day in camp he was going to be something special.??

Terrelle Pryor's interview, when TP was asked about whether having Brewster, Adams, Shugarts, and possibly Jenkins blocking for him will be a factor or not in choosing a school, he goes on to say he knows if he chose that school Adams, JENKINS, and Brewster would have his back. I know we've been under the assumption that it is a matter of when not if with Jenkins, but always good to see the #1 prospect provide pseudo-confirmation of the committment
Big Reds? Jenkins impressed with talent at U.S. Army Bowl
By DAVE POE, Sports Editor POSTED: January 2, 2008
SAN ANTONIO, Texas ? Josh Jenkins is enjoying every minute of his once-in-a-lifetime experience this week at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
On New Year's Day, Jenkins and his East all-star teammates went through the second of five straight days of two-a-day workouts in preparation for Saturday's noon game against the West team, which will be nationally televised by NBC at noon.
Jenkins is more than impressed with the talent on both squads.
"Speed, speed and more speed,' he said. "Everyone is so fast and so strong.'
Yet, Jenkins, a first-team USA Today all-American and the first West Virginia high school senior selected to participate in the game, is holding his own.
"I'm sore all over,' he said. "Yesterday was the first day since Dec. 1 (the day the Big Reds won back-to-back state championships) that I've had contact,' he said. "Today was much better. The contact was still there but my body knew what was coming. I played well today. Our line opened up some sweet holes.

The interviewer spoke for him and then asked Josh what other schools he is looking at besides OSU.
Another case of an interviewer trying to manufacture quotes to make a bigger story....IMHO
