'08 WV OL Josh Jenkins (West Virginia Signee)

I can't help but think that as the buzz of Tallahasee (sp) wears off, JJ will see the ongoing problems at FSU and the distance and remove them from consideration. He has a chance to be a part of something special at tOSU and I think that sways him in the end.

When he describes making the decision that is best for him it really sounds like he is laying the groundwork for his defense of not choosing WVU. Don't know if he picks the Bucks but I was encouraged by the interview and everything the BPRT has reported.

Well FSU's coach at 90 something is pretty stable, too bad the football program isn't. That and some of the controversy surrounding Stewart and his comments and if tOSU, WVU and FSU are the final three choices, I feel supremely confident in JJ's ultimate destination.

Couple that with tOSU's ability to put O-linemen into the NFL and the fact that JJ's surrounding cast will push him and help him reach his true potential and I'm feeling more confident all the time.

Thanks for the interview link. Still sounds promising to me. He goes on to say that all the schools he has it narrowed down to are all really good schools and he can't go wrong with any of them once he makes his decision. Sounds like he is close to a decision (in his head anyway). He also says that if he comes in and does his thing, it's all about making it to the next level. Even if he plays well his first few years @ FSU or WVU, I can't see FSU turning things around immediately. And even though I think WVU will be good, I don't think they will be a NC worthy team the next few years. What a better way to showcase yourself going for a few NC titles along the ride. I like his chances of doing just that in S&G. It's going to be an interesting stretch run this year. Lots of big names out there on the board still. Landing just a couple would really firm up this already outstanding class. Here's to a better stretch run with OOS recruits compared to recent memory. Go Bucks!!!!

PHS star nearing decision on school

By DAVE POE, Sports Editor POSTED: January 15, 2008

PARKERSBURG ? Like every other community, Parkersburg loves a parade.

But never in the history of this community, incorporated in 1810, has there been a parade like the one taking place this week at the Parkersburg High School football office.

On Monday, new West Virginia University head football coach Bill Stewart and even newer recruiting coordinator John ?Doc? Holliday were at PHS to meet with all-America lineman

Josh Jenkins. After spending some time with Jenkins, members of the PHS coaching and the media, the WVU coaches met with Jenkins and his family at their home, trying to convince the 6-foot-5, 305-pound star to continue his football career in Morgantown next fall.

While Stewart and Holliday were the grand marshals of this parade, it?s going to continue for three more days as some of the other top football programs in America make their respective pitches for Jenkins? services.

Today, University of Michigan recruiting coordinator Tony Gibson ? who not long ago was recruiting Jenkins on behalf of WVU ?will visit the Big Red football complex.

On Wednesday, University of Pittsburgh coach Dave Wannstedt ?whose Panthers upset West Virginia in the regular season finale and knocked the Mountaineers out of the National Championship game, will be in Parkersburg seeking the services of Jenkins ?who is scheduled to make his official visit to the Pittsburgh campus this weekend.

Finally, on Thursday, Ohio State coach Jim Tressel will be back in Parkersburg, taking his final shot at Jenkins.

Other than saying he?s getting close to a decision ? he has little choice with national letter-of-intent day set for Feb. 7 ? Jenkins continues to explore his options, which he has been doing for more than a year.

Jenkins said he would go where he feels most comfortable and where he best fits in, regardless of the distance between that school and Parkersburg.
