Roe will be entering his first year and we all know that Matta loves the ability for his 4 to step out and shoot the ball and not sure that Roe will bring that early in his career...

Tarheel message boards are reporting that Roe has delayed his presser on his choice until next Tuesday. They go on to cite this link....

Delvon Roe could consider himself as the key to St. Edward's basketball success. That, though, would not be consistent with his unselfish attitude.
"I was taught at a young age that basketball is a team game, and you win as a team," said Roe, a 6-8 junior forward and The Plain Dealer's boys basketball Player of the Year.
"If you're not a team player, the only way you stand out is in a negative way. A team player on a team that does well stands out in a positive way."

There are a number of reasons why I do that see Roe coming to Ohio State.
First, I have to believe that when Matta was recruiting Babbitt that he proudly told him about playing time and that if you would commit he would get the bulk of playing time at the 3/4 position.
Second, I would like to think that Matta would like to spread the classes out a little and have possibly 2 scholarships for 2009. Kosta would have to declare early for this to happen but it is not out of the question. Even if you would not leave early Matta would have at least one scholarship available for 2009 and you never know who's going to come alone.
Thirdly, Madsen is hardly a bench warmer and will get minutes in 2008 and 2009 which would take away from some of Roe's minutes.
Fourth, I do that see how a guy could do a 180? over a weekend dispelling everything that has been said about him going to UNC or MSU.
Having said all of the above, he is only a teenager and you never know what is going to happen.

Why would Roe delay announcing unless he is waiting for something? If he was set in any one school at this point he would have committed. The only thing for sure is that he has not verbally committed to anyone.
He will most likely be 1 n done so he will want to go wherever he thinks he can win the tournament in 2009. By then UNC will most likely lose the top kids in the 2006 class as will Ohio State. But with our class of 2007 which UNC has none, that could be the difference.
