'08 OH SF Delvon Roe (Michigan State Signee)

not going to happen

I know I know you guys cannot stand the scout board but was just wondering if anyone here has heard that Roe may still be looking at OSU. If Cook, Conley, and Oden all leave before the 08 class comes in there would be room for Delvon as well.

He is all but signed up to be a Tar Heel, I think that Cook and Conley is staying, but Oden who knows....

I have read on this forum from people who know better than I that he is essentially a UNC lock right now. However, I would think that if we had an opening and he called Thad and said he would like to come here I don't know if they would tell him to go away. Have no idea regarding that.

King of The Court Update

Roe had stated he was down to Michigan State and UNC recently, but it is a long way to signing day......anything is possible I guess. If he called Matta, we would take him, without hesitation.

Yeah anything can happen but NC has one main guy they are after for 2008 and that is Roe. But on the OSU dreamers.... He is playing under the direction of Anthony Crater in the Boo Williams Classic. Maybe Crater and him might make a "love connection".

Here is the latest update on the Saturday Action.

"Falando Jones missed the potential game-winning shot as King of the Court squeaked past the Jackson Tigers 70-69 Saturday morning at Hampton High. Damien Eargle's free throw with 1:36 to go gave the Ohio-based AAU squad its second win of the Boo Williams Invitational.

Jackson never led in the second half, while King of the Court led by as much as seven. Delvon Roe, the No. 5 prospect in the country, led King of the Court with 17 points and eight rebounds. Roe also had four steals.

Kenny Frease gave King of the Court eight points and nine rebounds, despite going just 3-for-11 from the field.

Despite Frease's and Roe's rebounding numbers, Jackson actually dominated the glass, particularly on the offensive end. Jackson pulled down offensive board after offensive board, at one point in the second half getting off seven shots in one possession." Jordan and Cunningham DailyPress

Roe is to announce Ohio State on Thursday

Inside source somewhat reliable said Roe is now got Ohio State back in the running and has no problem announcing Ohio State as his choice on Thursday but not firm.

Crater recruited Roe hard at this weekend. The only reason he is thinking UNC any how is because of Jordan's Legacy. He could have his own at Legacy at Ohio State.

How is this possible given the scholarship situation? This would have to mean we're losing more current players than orginally planned, right?

It means

Cook, Oden, and Conley are all gone before the 2008 class comes in which is a great possibility. The ship was considered to be for 2009 because it was assumed Conley would be here until then.

I would much rather have Roe in 08 than Van Trease in 2009.

Fair point - it would be an amazing class and great to get the top 3 players in Ohio too (w/ Buford and Mullens).

Sorry, I missed your earlier post and skipped straight to Oden/Conley/Cook panic.

Interesting... if there is any truth to this, we are presented with the very rich problem of where to put T. Pryor once he signs for football

My question will be will Roe find playing time?

At this point I think that Thad would be more apt to play Babbitt ahead of him due to his abilty to step out and hit the 3 and his body is more ready to bang with some of the big guys...

Then you will have Madsen who would be a junior and with a redshirt year he has a good amount of experience and will be seeing some minutes...

So there will be minutes available, but they would be split, and both of those guys would be back the following year as well...

Then you want to play him at the 3, which at this point I do not believe he has the skill to, but the potential too...

You will have guys like Diebler, Lighty, Turner, Wallace, Buford that he will be fighting with that all have experience over him, or in Buford's case has a much better feel for the 3 position.

Either way this would be a great problem to have...I know I have only seen Roe once in person, and from all reports I read on him he seems to dominate...But I can't get out of my mind that he just didnt make me that thrilled of the thought of having him...But these scouts know more than me, so I will leave it up to them, also this would give us an upper hand on Po Howard if he does in fact turn out to be tOSU caliber recruit...

But I still don't see this happening, but I am sure that Crater was in his ear all weekend and going to UNC would be quite a drive from Cleveland...

I really hope this is true.

When tryign to figure out where the ship could come from...

You'd have to assume of Oden, Conley, Cook, and lets not forget Koufus..
That 3 of the 4 will most likely be gone by then. Nothing is ever locked in stone, but it's likely.
