bingo. When, I use to follow the AAU/TOURNEMENTS in the 90's if an
OHIO kid was playing or considered a top player it was a FREAK,

Heck I also forgot about Gates to add to that list...

Then Indiana has two guys from Ohio that I had never even heard about until I saw pritchard last night, and then saw they had another guy from Cincy...

St. Edward basketball hurting

Tuesday, December 11, 2007 Mike Peticca

Plain Dealer Reporter
All-America forward Delvon Roe is one of three St. Edward starters who could miss some upcoming boys basketball games.
Roe, a 6-8 senior who has signed a national letter of intent to play at Michigan State, will have an MRI on his right knee today. Eagles coach Eric Flannery said Roe injured the knee during St. Edward's season-opening 78-73 overtime win over Campbell Hall of North Hollywood, Calif., last Thursday.
"There's some swelling and we want to get it checked out," Flannery said. "We're pretty optimistic and it's more precautionary. The swelling has gone down."

Knee injury could cost Roe the season

Thursday, December 13, 2007
From staff reports
All-American forward Delvon Roe's knee injury is worse than expected and the St. Edward basketball star could miss the season.
Doctors discovered a slight tear in the meniscus and some damage to the cartilage in Roe's right knee Wednesday, Eagles coach Eric Flannery said. Roe, a Michigan State recruit, will undergo surgery Monday at the Cleveland Clinic and could miss six weeks to six months, Flannery said.
"Some guys could play on what he has but because of his possible career and future, it's something that could get worse so it's something that needs to be taken care of right away," Flannery said.

MSU freshman Roe needs more knee surgery
Joe Rexrode
[email protected]

EAST LANSING -- Michigan State basketball incoming freshman Delvon Roe, who is near full recovery from right knee surgery, now needs left knee surgery, MSU associate sports information director Matt Larson confirmed today.

The severity of Roe's injury and the timetable for his return are not yet known, but coach Tom Izzo is expected to make a statement later today. Roe, a 6-foot-7 forward from Lakewood, Ohio, is one of the top prospects nationally for the class of 2008.

Roe missed most of his senior season at Lakewood St. Edward High after microfracture surgery on his right knee in December. Izzo has said he expects Roe to challenge for a starting spot on the 2008-09 team

Surgery a success for MSU basketball freshman Delvon Roe
by Steve Grinczel

EAST LANSING -- Highly touted incoming Michigan State freshman forward Delvon Roe now has two surgically repaired knees, but only a minor setback.

After Roe developed swelling in his left knee last week, the MSU medical staff scheduled him to have exploratory surgery. During Tuesday's operation performed by Dr. Mike Shingles, small particles of cartilage were cleaned out of the knee, according to a news release issued by the MSU sports information department.

Roe, who was already restricted to limited action this summer while recovering from major surgery on his right knee, should be cleared to return to action in about six weeks, the release said.

Roe's recovery welcome news for Spartans

Thursday, September 18, 2008 | Print Entry

Tom Izzo doesn't want to make a big deal out of Delvon Roe participating in his first Michigan State workout Monday.
But he can't help himself. Roe was too good, too soon probably after having surgery Aug. 5 on his left knee to clean up some small particles of cartilage that caused swelling.

Delvin Roe expects to step in and
contribute right away for MSU.

Roe -- a 6-foot-8 power forward who could be the difference for a possible Final Four berth for the Spartans -- hadn't played since December of 2007 after he injured his right knee while playing for St. Edward High in Lakewood, Ohio. He had microfracture surgery that kept him out the rest of the season.
"You don't take nine months off and be the same player," Izzo said. "But he would rank right up there for anybody I've had that has come back quickly. He has the brains and the athleticism. He didn't look like a fish out of water on that first day."

MSU's Delvon Roe ends career because of knee pain

Michigan State senior forward Delvon Roe has chosen to end his college basketball career because of degenerative knee pain, the school announced today. He will continue to be on scholarship and is in line to graduate in May.

?This is the hardest decision I?ve ever had to make,? Roe said in a released statement. ?It feels that I?ve been playing through pain throughout my career at MSU, but the daily grind of basketball -- the running, cutting, jumping -- has finally taken its toll, given the intensity required to play at our level.?
