I would just like to mention that until this past Saturday State Penn had not scored a TD in a road game all year. Yes, it's a home game for them, but they suck. Hard. Professional grade sucking. Even Michigan's pitiful defense should hold them to no more than 30 points, and that won't be enough...
Remember when those clowns said, "have fun with Oregon in the Rose Bowl, because that's what our offense will look like for the next few years?" I sure do, and I hope it's true.
He did it again this year. He got away with a really obvious "going after a defenseless player" hit against a WR (Sanz?) who was making a diving catch. The receiver was down, with the ball, and he came in and went to the guy's head. There's football and then there's just being an ass.
I agree with the comment about steps. The pass pro was very good, and he had all day to make some of those throws. They were good throws, but he has to make those decisions faster and get the ball out sooner. /nitpicking
It's not like it's all that hard to figure out their yards per play. So far this season, DR averages about 9 yards per touch and TP averages about 8.1 yards per touch. Do I really give a flying fuck about the disparity? Nope.
Good point. I was comparing Troy Smith after a bowl game to TP without a bowl game. Then again, Troy Smith without a bowl game doesn't look very different (oooo, I made myself feel bad...).
At his current pace, he's looking at 2700 yards passing, 30 TDs passing, 6 INTs, 8.8 YPA, 68% completion rate, 700 yards rushing, 6 rushing TDs, and 6.2 YPC on the season.
For the sake of comparison, some guy named Troy Smith won the Heisman trophy with 2542 yards passing, 30 TDs passing, 6...
Well, that would explain all the shit that went wrong with that block. If he hurt himself on contact, there's no way in hell he was going to do much to block the guy. The injury concerns me, but I'm glad to know that he doesn't just occasionally completely whiff on blocks for no discernible...
The frustrating part is how easily and quickly he got beat. On the replay, he just stood up in his stance, knees unbent, and got beat on a single move. It wasn't a spin, bullrush, or even a speed rush. The guy just put his hands on Mike, who failed to get a good punch, and then went around him...
There's more to playing RB than just running the ball. If TP gets hurt, our season is in peril. These guys need to be able to pick up the blitz and whoever walks past Mike Adams.
If you assume that all of the sack yardage for the team falls on Pryor (not correct, but close enough in lieu of parsing the PBP data for 2 whole years; it's 23 sacks for 162 yards in 2009 and 28 sacks for 187 yards in 2008) and account for that in his rushing totals, he'd have 941 on 139...
In that case, closet therapy is effective as well. However, it is considered a dated course of treatment. Modern medicine best practices recommend regular back-hand therapy punctuated with a swift kick in the ass. As with antibiotics, it is important to finish the ENTIRE treatment protocol or...
