I was thinking the same thing until I saw how completely inept Pitt's QB was. Man, it's hard to believe that's the best option Pitt has at that position. Miami could take a lot more risks against that kid than they could against TP & Co. I think these next three games are crucial for our O-Line to continue to develop that cohesiveness. I thought coming into the season that they would be the strength of the team this year and I'm not backing off that. But I do think there is plenty of room for improvement.

And we played with a short field much of the time against Miami...

So we probably could have potentially put up quite a bit more yardage..

I'm re-watching the Miami game right now and after the first quarter I can say that our O-line was dominant. I watch our D against their O-line and it's like night and day compared to them against ours. And I can also say that ACC refs are awful.

Time for conference play. The front seven level of talent will be going up from here until the bowl game. Bottom line is (I mean this in the nicest way possible) no more lookout blocks! After the first TD pass I was just happy TP was able to get up and celebrate, really. Very scary hit on that play.

This group is capable of great things this year and it starts in Champaign on the 2nd. One play at a time guys!

Yeah. When Mike Adams hits his knees tonight he ought to thank whoever he prays to that TPs knee wasn't blown out on that play. I thought for sure he was done when I initially saw it. Not a great effort from Adams today.

The frustrating part is how easily and quickly he got beat. On the replay, he just stood up in his stance, knees unbent, and got beat on a single move. It wasn't a spin, bullrush, or even a speed rush. The guy just put his hands on Mike, who failed to get a good punch, and then went around him. That was a serious technique lapse, and I pray that it doesn't happen again. We've seen Mike play much better than this against much better competition; however, even lapses against "bad" competition could be disastrous.

While critiquing an undefeated, top ranked team seems nit-picky to me, I do have some mild concerns about the line's ability to run block against stronger defenses.

Hopefully they're just kinda bored going against teams like Indiana and the adrenaline will kick in for a game like the one in Madison. I'd like to see more fire and explosion from this group to be able to consistently run the ball when necessary in closer games against better opponents.

We'll start finding out very soon. Go Bucks!

I am amazed when I see some of the holes opened up by other Olines. Nebraska and sparty from this past weekend are good examples. (I realize sparty was up against the fighting midgets of tsun, but we didn't do much in the run game against the mighty hoosiers!)

Watch Brewster's play and tell me this is a comparable line. Maybe Brew is playing hurt(he played hurt most of last year) but he gets pushed back way to often. Shugarts is arguably the best of the Brew Crew(has a foot injury). Adams is starting to come on now but has a shoulder issue.
Maybe the "problem" is all these guys have injuries they are dealing with?

It seems like the Buckeyes have made a habbit of turning 5-star o-line studs into average college linemen. Not sure what the deal is, but recruiting doesn't seem to be the problem. Remember how Connor Smith was going to solve our oline problems?
