So we're even. TIC? I guess haven't seen those posts yet.

Fine, I took it too seriously. :( It just seemed like it repeated arguments that went back and forth on this thread many times, which at the time weren't supposed to be funny. Maybe it was just supposed to be funny to OSU fans? And no, I don't care whether you talk about NIU in a "glowing"...

Sorry if this has been discussed already, are you guys expecting Wells to get a bunch of carries in this game or will it mostly be Pittman?
  4. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

Geez, I leave the board for a day and everybody's bickering. Can't we all just get along? :) I'm just hoping for a well-played game. What will be, will be. Also hoping for an exciting game, though I'm sure OSU fans are hoping it isn't, they'd rather have a blowout.

I don't know why Dan would play a lot. Unless he figures we'll be so far ahead in some games that he'll put Dan in! I can't imagine he would platoon the 2 QBs.

Yea, that's true, if Wolfe does well most people will assume that OSU is not that good. That's part of the reason why Wolfe would have to pull off a miracle to win the Heisman. It would help him get some votes, but not enough to get to NYC. Wolfe himself has said he gets too much credit...
  7. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

Honestly, I think Novak said that more to make a point than anything else. I suspect they're taking a wait-and-see approach. If Wolfe does well at OSU, the media will probably hype him some and he will have a chance. If he doesn't he won't have a chance regardless of what he does in his other...
  8. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

No, not really. The school doesn't have any official Heisman campaign for Wolfe because they decided he was too much of a long shot coming from a MAC school. Which is true, the only way would be if he had 12 great games. If he's getting shut down by the first teamers against OSU, that will...
  9. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

We don't end up throwing the ball to Wolfe very often. We might do it a little more this year, but usually we throw to the WRs and TEs. No team can afford to be that one-dimensional.

??? We play Ohio State and Iowa this year. Ouch is still correct though. The Iowa game is much later in the year.
  11. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

No, Zurp is right. Our coach is interested in winning games and our goal this year is to win the MAC. We need to keep Wolfe healthy for that, and the coach doesn't care about statistics. If we're getting drilled it would be completely silly to leave Wolfe in there. We have plenty of backup...
  12. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

Pittman and Wells could end up with better stats than Wolfe and still not be better RBs, for the same reason that Wolfe can run for 300+ yards against Eastern Michigan and not be considered the best in the country. Wolfe is going up against the vaunted OSU defense, while Pittman and Wells will...

Why do you assume that I'm bragging? I'm just stating a fact, there are no bad seats. The fact that I mentioned it looks like a high school stadium should have made it obvious that I wasn't bragging. Okay, now you can go back to bragging about your perfect team that has no weaknesses.
  14. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

I have to admit, one good thing about Huskie stadium is that there are no bad seats. There aren't even any end zone seats. So you get a good view no matter where you are. And the prices are reasonable. It kind of makes it look like a large high school stadium though.
  15. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

I don't see how that thread went on as long as it did. Everybody else realizes that the Alabama we beat was not the Alabama of old. As for his point about OSU not necessarily being the best team in the country, that's true. They haven't played any games yet, so who the heck knows? Without a...
  16. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

I don't know the details behind some of those moves so I don't know if the situation is the same. It's true that the MAC gets a few recruits because the Big 10 teams can only take so many. That still leaves most of the top recruits at the Big 10 schools. They have 11 guys that were near the...
  17. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

To some extent this is true, you have to take some risk but I do think it's harder now than it was before. Frankly I agree with the stadium situation, it's hard to consider yourself "big time" when your stadium only holds 28000. It held 31000 until they removed the end zone seats, not sure why...
  18. Game Thread Game One: #1 Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12 (9/2/06)

Actually, this is kind of like saying that the Pittsburgh Steelers are better than Ohio State. It's true, but it almost has to be. OSU's football budget is, I believe, more than 10 times what NIU's budget is. Our facilities would never come close, especially with the MAC only getting a few...
