Every player that was draft eligible for the Ohio State Buckeyes, has landed on an NFL team before the start of training camp.

Urban Meyer, who had 12 players drafted to their respected teams by the end of the weekend, is all smiles after three others signed contracts to work their way onto a team as undrafted free agents.

After the final selection of the 2016 NFL Draft on Saturday night, wide receiver Jalin Marshall signed on to join former Buckeye Devin Smith and fellow Buckeye teammate Darron Lee as a member of the Jets.

He figures to be the under receiver to compliment his former teammate that has been dangerous his whole football career at going over the top of defenses.

Safety Tyvis Powell will look to etch his name into the “Legion of Boom”in Seattle. He’ll join teammate Nick Vannett and our MaliBuckeye in The Emerald City, after leaving Ohio State a year early. Anyone that is willing to judge him for taking off from Columbus too soon, doesn’t know the full story. Powell has already secured his degree from The Ohio State University. Now, he’ll further his football education under Pete Carroll and secondary coach Andre Curtis.

You know those two tackle spots that Ohio State needs to replace before the start of the 2016 campaign? Taylor Decker and Chase Farris leave some big shoes to fill in Columbus. They’ll both be taking their clodhoppers to Detroit, as members of the Detroit Lions.

Farris is a prospect that has been under the radar during the draft process, but a fair amount of teams have shown interest. The senior lineman who proved to be versatile during his time in Columbus, was not invited to the NFL Combine. Yet, he did hold personal workouts for several teams during the process.

Decker and Riley Reiff will probably start at tackle for the Lions in 2016, but there will be fierce competition for playing time and the backup roles at each spot. Farris should get a good shot at making the Lions roster.

The Buckeye bats erupted late and the bullpen kept the Boilermakers in check to secure the sweep in West Lafayette.

It took a little while for Ohio State's bats to wake up on Sunday, but five runs in the late innings were enough to secure a 5-1 win and a much-needed series sweep over Purdue in West Lafayette.

The Buckeyes slipped just above the .500 mark in Big Ten play at 8-7, and have put themselves in position to make a run at a Big Ten tournament berth in the regular season's final three weekends.

A two-run double from junior center fielder Troy Montgomery in the seventh and a two-run single by junior catcher Jalen Washington in the eighth gave Ohio State what it needed to withstand a Boilermaker squad that, despite falling to 2-16 in the conference, played a tough series.

It was a collective effort kind of day for the Ohio State pitching staff, as five different arms took to the bump. Starter Adam Niemeyer lasted only two innings. The redshirt sophomore didn't look like his usual self, hitting three of the ten batters he faced, but worked out of situations with runners in scoring position to keep Purdue off the board.

Fellow redshirt sophomore Austin Woodby, who allowed the only run of the day for the Buckeyes, senior Daulton Mosbarger, sophomore Seth Kinker, senior Michael Horejsei, and redshirt sophomore Kyle Michalik all followed Niemeyer, combining to hold Purdue's lineup in check. Kinker got the win, his fourth of the season.

The Boilermakers' Shane Bryant brought his swing and miss stuff to the ballpark, racking up a career-high nine strikeouts in his five innings of work. The senior right-hander limited the Buckeyes to three hits and a walk in a scoreless effort, but was failed by a bullpen that yielded all five runs on six hits in a collective four innings by four different arms.

For the third straight game, Purdue scored first. A single, walk, and sacrifice bunt against Woodby put two runners in scoring position with one out in the bottom of the third, and designated hitter Daniel Sander delivered a sacrifice fly to bring home Kyle Johnson for a 1-0 lead that wouldn't budge for another four innings.

The long drought for Ohio State ended in the top of the seventh when Craig Nennig ripped a one-out double off the wall in left, Washington drew a walk, and Montgomery delivered the two-run double to make it a 2-1 game.

The Buckeyes added another in the top of the eighth to take a 3-1 lead. Ronnie Dawson doubled and Nick Sergakis singled to put runners on the corners with nobody out. A chopper off the bat of Troy Kuhn, who had a quality 3-for-5 day, plated Dawson, and a throwing error by Duncan McKinnon allowed Sergakis to slide in safely at second.

A Nenning walk loaded the bases and Washington stepped in to deliver a two-run single and extend the lead to 5-1.

The Boilermakers were limited to just four runs in the series, as Ohio State's pitching staff really stepped up.

The Buckeyes will now host UAB in a two-game midweek series on Tuesday and Wednesday in Columbus before Iowa comes in for what is setting up to be a crucial Big Ten weekend series.

After a record breaking 2016 NFL Draft, we take a very early look at the 2017 draft class.

12 members of the 2015 Ohio State Buckeyes were selected in the 2016 NFL Draft. With multiple underclassmen departing, there will not be as many seniors and redshirt juniors to declare for the 2017 NFL Draft. Here, we breakdown the seniors, the underclassmen who should (will) enter the 2017 draft and the ones on the fence.

The seniors

Pat Elflein: Pat Elflein was the lone, draft-eligible and draftable underclassman who decided to come back for his senior year. Elflein has played in every game for the Buckeyes since 2013. He played guard the past two seasons; however, he will be playing center this season, shoring up the middle of the offensive line and making the calls. The two-time first team All-Big Ten selection will be one of the better interior linemen in college football next season, and should be the first Buckeye to have his named called in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Early projection: 1st-2nd round

Corey Smith: Corey Smith has had an up-and-down career in Columbus. He arrived out of junior college, redshirted in 2013, got playing time in the receiver rotation in 2014 and then broke his leg in 2015 after sitting out the first game of the season due to a suspension. Smith was granted a sixth year of eligibility and is more of a special teams ace than a playmaker on offense. The 6'0", 190 lb wideout will get a camp invite due to his ability to make plays on special teams, comparable to Evan Spencer.

Early projection: UDFA

Cameron Johnston: The Aussie had the chance to turn pro and enter the 2016 NFL Draft, but he decided to come back for his senior year. This is only his third year of playing organized football , after growing up playing Australian Rules Football. Johnston has had 146 punts downed inside the opponents 20-yard line and only 14 of his 155 career punts have resulted in a touchback. If Johnston has a strong year, he may get his name called late in the third day, but he will most likely be picked up as a priority undrafted free agent.

Early projection: UDFA

Dontre Wilson: Wilson arrived at Ohio State with a ton of hype as Urban Meyer's first Buckeye recruit to play the H-back position. After a decent freshman campaign, he has dealt with a nagging foot injury which has kept him off the field the past two seasons. Due to Wilson's lack of size, breakaway speed and big play potential, it is unlikely that Wilson will get selected. Hopefully, If Wilson can stay healthy, he should get signed as an undrafted free agent.

Early projection: UDFA

Underclassmen who should declare

Raekwon McMillan: McMillan is the next great linebacker to come out of Ohio State and he is a safer NFL prospect than the recently drafted Darron Lee or Joshua Perry. The former 5-star recruit has seen significant action since his freshman season and started every game as a sophomore, leading the Buckeyes in total tackles (119) in 2015. McMillan is instinctive and a true three-down linebacker, who will be the number one middle linebacker selected if he declares.

Early projection: 85% chance he declares for the NFL Draft

J.T. Barrett: Barrett has great pocket presence, accuracy and decision making skills which would make him a viable NFL option, but he lacks NFL arm strength and appropriate size to make him a top quarterback selection. If Barrett bounces back from a tough 2015 season, he could get the NFL buzz that Russell Wilson received at Wisconsin and leave for the NFL. If the two-time captain heads to the NFL, he will be selected in the third or fourth round.

Early projection: 70% chance he enters for the NFL Draft

Underclassmen who could declare

Gareon Conley: Conley will be the No. 1 corner on the 2016 team and if he has a significant development, like Eli Apple, he has the length and man-coverage background to impress NFL scouts. Conley will get his chance to match-up against the opponents top wideouts and make plays as a junior. Not to mention, he will have a former NFL head coach, Greg Schiano, on his case throughout the season. The 6'0", 190 lb corner has the talent and the experience to bolt to the NFL early.

Early projection: 60% chance he declares for the NFL Draft

Tyquan Lewis: It wasn't the No. 3 overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, Joey Bosa, who led the 2015 team in sacks, it was Tyquan Lewis. Lewis had a monster 2015 campaign; totaling 54 tackles, 14 tackles-for-loss and eight sacks. With Bosa's departure, Lewis will be the focal point on the defensive line and he will receive his share of double teams. With a couple of highly regarded defensive end recruits on their way to Columbus, Lewis may decide to test the NFL waters if he has another monster 2016 season and declare for the 2017 NFL Draft.

Early projection: 55% chance he declares for the NFL Draft

Curtis Samuel: The Brooklyn Swiss Army Knife was labeled as a "Top 5 playmaker" on last year's loaded roster. Samuel has played H-back, receiver and running back at Ohio State and is a big play waiting to happen. With multiple key departures on the perimeter and in the backfield, the 2016 season is Samuel's time to shine. He could lead the Buckeyes in total touchdowns, receptions and 20-plus yard rushes, and head to the NFL with his stock at its peak.

Early projection: 55% chance he declares for the NFL Draft

Marcus Baugh: We all know the up-and-down career that Marcus Baugh has had at Ohio State; however, he is extremely talented and has NFL size and potential. The 6'5", 255 lb tight end was the de-facto No. 2 blocking tight end last season and with the departure of Nick Vannett, he will get his chance to shine in 2016. If the spring game showed anything significant, it is that Baugh will be a bigger part of the offense. Say Baugh leads the team in touchdown receptions, the fourth-year junior may be enticed to leave.

Early projection: 45% chance he declares for the NFL Draft

Billy Price: The fourth-year junior enters 2016 as a two-year starter at guard, where he has been a key piece of their dominant run game. The former freshman All-American is one of the most athletic and strongest linemen in the conference. If the Buckeye run game continues to succeed without Ezekiel Elliott, Price's stock will be at an all-time high and he may take his size (6'4", 315 lbs) and strength to the NFL.

Early projection: 45% chance he declares for the NFL Draft

Underclassmen who could but aren't ready to declare

The following players have yet to see significant playing time at Ohio State, but they have the NFL size and talent to make the leap if they have a great 2016 campaign:

Jamarco Jones: Jones has played sparingly during his first two years at Ohio State and has the left tackle position locked up for 2016. Although there is a slim chance of him bolting after one-year as a starter, it's possible.

Early projection: 90% chance he stays in school

Noah Brown: Coming off of a broken leg, Brown should be the No. 1 outside receiver in 2016. He has the size and physicality that could catch the eyes of NFL scouts.

Early projection: 80% chance he stays in school

Sam Hubbard: Hubbard has a chance to become an every-down, dominant defensive end at Ohio State. Hubbard is a phenomenal athlete and has transformed his body to become a full-time starter in 2016. Hubbard has flashed playmaking ability and the ability to get to the quarterback, which would make him an enticing NFL prospect.

Early projection: 80% chance he stays in school

Jalyn Holmes: Holmes arrived at Ohio State as a highly touted recruit in 2014. He got playing time on the national championship team, but lost out on the starting defensive end position in 2015 to Lewis. Holmes will be in the defensive end rotation with Lewis, Hubbard, Rashod Berry, Jonathon Cooper and Nick Bosa, which may force him out at the end of the season. Holmes has the length (6'5") that NFL scouts salivate over and has the potential to become a great pass rusher.

Early projection: 70% chance he stays in school

Cardale Jones is pretty much the greatest.

Yeah, a vocal, pointed group of Ohio State fans won't shy away from criticizing the lack of consistency during his victory lap season with the Buckeyes, but the guy is undefeated as a starter, undefeated on social media, and one of the easiest to root for OSU football players in recent memory.

On top of his Big Ten, Sugar Bowl, and national championships, Cardale's never one to shy away from giving us moments to celebrate. And boy did he ever have one Saturday.

After having a two day wait to hear his name called and his ascension to the NFL complete, a friend or acquaintance of the newest member of the Buffalo Bills captured this amazing, hilarious celebration that's perfectly Cardale in just about every way:

The fun didn't stop there. One of his boys chased him down to make sure they celebrated his dreams coming true in style:

Back in February, I told everyone about a joint venture my family’s race car team, and The Buckeye Battle Cry was doing for 2016.

Well we haven’t had the best weather this April here in Ohio so we’ve only been able to race a couple of times. One of those times was this past Friday night at 250 Speedway in Cadiz, Ohio. 250 Speedway is a 3/8 mile dirt track. Cadiz, Ohio is in the eastern part of Ohio very close to Wheeling, WV.

This past Friday night was their opening race night and our race team called Fat Guy Racing went down to the track for the first time. The #16 Buckeye Battle Cry sponsored Mod Lite driven by Allen Dillenger won the heat race and was poised to take the feature.

The featured started out bad as 2 Mod Lites collided on the backstretch causing both to flip in the air several times. The good part is both drivers walked way from the horrific crash.

That didn’t stop the #16 Mod Lite from going on and wining the Feature event in front of a packed crowd. The other 2 Fat Guy racing cars took 4th and 6th in the Feature which fellow Buckeye Battle Cry writer Ken Kohl said “Great! It sounds like the Buckeyes in this year’s NFL Draft; grabbing all the high spots :)”

It was an exciting weekend for all Buckeye fans and fans of The Buckeye Battle Cry. As Zeke Elliot, Joey Bosa, and Eli Apple was being drafted in the top 10, Fat Guy Racing and The Buckeye Battle Cry were taking all the top 10 spots in the Feature Event at 250 Speedway.

Congrats to all the Ohio State players who got drafted this weekend!

Till the next time…or race…Chill!

The Buckeyes end their season on a high note with a win over a ranked conference foe.

The Ohio State Buckeyes men’s lacrosse team shocked the conference with a huge win over No. 16 Rutgers in Columbus in the team’s final game of the season. Despite key injuries in the midfield, the Buckeyes controlled the game more than the 12-10 final score would suggest.

Though Rutgers scored the first goal, the Scarlet Knights would only have the lead for just under two minutes in the first half, as the Buckeyes tied the game on a goal by attackman Ryan Hunter. Midfielder Johnny Pearson then scored his first goal of the day with 9:40 left in the first quarter to give Ohio State a lead that would not be relinquished. Attackmen J.T. Blubaugh and Colin Chell would tack on a pair of goals at the end of the quarter, but Rutgers would come back on a turnover by Ohio State with a score to close the deficit to two goals. The Buckeyes, however, would add another goal by attackman Austin Shanks to take a 5-2 lead to the second quarter.

With a dominant performance on faceoffs from midfielder Jake Withers, Rutgers did not win a single faceoff until the second quarter, giving the Buckeyes an edge in possession which they capitalized on with a goal by C``hell. Though the Scarlet Knights added two more goals early in the quarter, Pearson dropped two consecutive long-range goals on lengthy Ohio State possessions to give the Buckeyes an 8-4 halftime edge.

Despite winning the ensuing faceoff, Ohio State gave up a quick goal just 16 seconds into the third quarter. Rutgers began to find its footing on defense after the break, able to stop the Buckeyes more effectively on attack, but the Buckeyes would continue to control the faceoffs in the midfield, maintaining a 14-4 advantage through the third quarter. Pearson would answer with his fourth goal of the day to bring the score to 9-5, but with strong defensive performances on both sides, it would be nearly 10 minute scoring drought for both teams, which finally broke on a Rutgers goal with 2:52 remaining in the third quarter. Blubaugh then added his second goal of the game, but the Scarlet Knights would score with two seconds remaining in the quarter--the team’s first goal by an attackman in the game--to narrow the Buckeyes’ lead to three goals heading into the final quarter.

The two teams would trade goals throughout the fourth quarter, with Rutgers narrowing the Buckeyes’ lead to as little as two, but Ohio State’s attack managed to match the quick-score attack of Rutgers to hold them off. The Buckeyes controlled possession with a man-up situation with two minutes remaining in the game, and a save by goalie Tom Carey with 1:09 remaining effectively sealed the victory for Ohio State.

Pearson led the Buckeyes in scoring with four goals on the day, but both Blubaugh and Chell recorded hat tricks in the effort. Ohio State had 19 shots on goal to Rutgers’ 17, with Carey notching seven saves.

Having lost to Penn State, Ohio State will be shut out of the Big Ten Tournament next week, and will not make an at-large bid for the NCAA Tournament. With the win, the Buckeyes close out the 2016 season with a 7-8 overall record, going 2-3 in conference.

Ohio State's longtime strong safety is the latest Silver Bullet to be drafted.

Tyvis Powell will take his big-play game to the Seattle Seahawks as un UDFA, according to multiple reports. Powell was projected to get drafted by many experts, but he slipped despite a productive career at Ohio State. It didn't take long before he found a home with one of the best franchises in the NFL, though.

At Ohio State, Powell appeared in 42 games from 2013-15 and started every game over the past two seasons. Powell's career statistics don't jump off the page, but the redshirt junior often inserted himself into the limelight in some of the Buckeyes' most prominent games during his career, with those moments including the game-sealing interception of a two-point attempt at Michigan in 2013 and the game-ending interception against Alabama in the 2015 Sugar Bowl. Powell was also named the Defensive MVP of the 2015 College Football Playoff title game after notching a game-best nine tackles.

The 6'3, 211-pound Powell had a solid but unspectacular showing at the NFL Combine, confirming his status as a mid-round pick. While Powell's ball skills are evident, his ability to hold up in the run game was a concern for evaluators. Unfortunately for Powell, his skill set seems to put him between a pure free safety and a pure strong safety.
