Stop No. 2 of the annual BTN summer bus tour took us to Columbus, Ohio, to watch the two-time defending Big Ten champ Ohio State practice. Relive some of the highlights below. Game Thread Ohio State v Washington 2018 Rose Bowl Pasadena, CA 1/1/19 5pm on ESPN

That and, upon re-watch, just how dominant OSU was for the first 3 quarters.

UW was down 28-3 and hadn't yet even reached the freaking Red Zone as the 4th started.

Yep. Finally rewatched after avoiding because of how angry I was at the end.

Encapsulated the 2018 season. Some beautiful passes, glimpses of dominance, and then a shambolic 4th Q tripping to the goal line. Turned 42-17 into a 5 point win.

Also, Haskins had an average (for Haskins) performance. Great first half, below average 2nd half. Missed some chunk yardage throws, and had at least one awful zone read. Washington obviously did have something to do with this though.

The NFL's annual top 100 players list countdown has come to a close, and 16 former Big Ten stars are represented. Drew Brees (No. 2) and Tom Brady (No. 6) lead the prestigious group that includes 11 offensive players and five defensive players.

Trip of a Lifetime

To clarify: We went to Cape Breton Island, which is part of Nova Scotia.
Yeah I looked it up. Looks cool. We did Niagra, lower half of VT, breezed through Southern NH and then did 8 days in ME one time. Always wanted to go back to see upper VT, all of NH, revisit ME (especially Camden) and then head up to Nova Scotia. We will do this in a few years in the new adventure rig and take about 5 weeks.

On a side note, someone along the trip suggested we do West Point and we followed their advice. Glad we did as it was one of the highlights of our trip. We only had a few hours but loved it. So much history and gorgeous setting. We will go back when we can spend more time.

Summer Movies?

I took the afternoon off from work (OK, I was sent home for not having enough flair) and went to see Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Thought it was outstanding.

Thought it was OK. Liked other Tarantino films more (but I don't like comparing someone by their previous work, something Christopher Nolan hates as well).

I liked the background noises (radio commercials) and 60's decor (the signage) more than anything.

Sad that I don't think Harvey Keitel or Samuel L. Jackson were in it (but I didn't look too hard). Funny that Sensei Kreese from "The Karate Kid" was in it.

I 100% think QT has a fetish for a certain body part. It's pretty obvious.

Roku/Google TV, vs DirecTv/Cable

Have any of you been following the next Elon Musk business venture where he hopes to provide fiber type internet speeds (up and down) to all locations, even deep country areas, by satellite?
If you live in an area like me, country, woods and farms, internet speeds are a big limiting factor. I’ve looked into satellite based services a few different times over the past 10-15 years. Sadly, the upload speeds have been the breaking point in the technology for me. So, I’ve been forced to stick with DSL, as it’s my only option for high speed service. I get 25 down and 1.5 up.
Musk’s new business vision uses a new satellite based technology implementation that has 3 shells, or layers, of satellites at various depths or distances from earth. These shells would handle various tasks but together they hope to get fiber type of speeds nearly anywhere. And they hope to sign American based military services as one of their first customers.
I hope they are able to accomplish this, it would be awesome for my area. But it’s also more crap in our nights sky. Thoughts?

I've been somewhat following it. There are currently 3 different companies working on putting this technology into space over the next 2 years, however Elon's is furthest along at this point. Basically, think of it as Mesh Technology on a global scale with satellites. One concern I would have is that it requires ground connectivity from "stations" placed all over the world that are connected to the internet, and then the satellites would connect to those stations which then provides satellite internet service to you. In short, there's an extra point of failure and "hop" for all internet traffic.

Still, as you pointed out for anyone limited to slower speeds this will be HUGE.

Rondale Moore (WR Purdue Boilermakers)

Imagine if you guys had Martinez...wowsers...

He would have still sat behind Haskins last year. At most he would be battling Fields or Baldwin for the starter's job this year in an offense more suited to Fields* or Baldwin's skill sets.

* - assuming Fields can be accurate with this downfield passing.

Dude is going to be fun to watch if he keeps developing and Scott Frost's offense should help him be a legit superstar in the B1G. Now if they could only figure out the rest of it.
