RB J.K. "All Day" Dobbins (2017 B1G CG MVP, 2019 1st Team All-American, Denver Broncos)

And hence is the reason(s) that the shelf life of a RB in the NFL is on the short side of 5 years. Every play puts a RB into harms way, with all those nasties trying to tear a piece of you off. Not for me thank you, but if you can hang, becomes lucrative. Yeah, me too, hoping that JK can recover and excel. Don't really care which pro team he labors for, but root for him (as well as all Buckeyes). PS, try running away/around those brutes, makes your body last longer.....

Texas A&M Aggies, aTm (official thread of jizz jars)

I know this is for their basketball team but it encapsulates their entire athletics department and fan base so succinctly

OL Coach Tyler Bowen (Official Thread)

I just see it as Smith’s version of Boyer that Patricia got last year. Couldn’t tell you how good of an idea it is, but it’s someone they like coaching with that makes things run easier.
Agreed. I read it as a 'we're not thrilled with our OL coaching, specifically w/r/t the run game. This shit needs fix'n and with a new OC who knows how to establish a mean ground and pound (debatable for BN27) run game, we need someone to take his vision and unfuck the OL.'

Holy Buckeye!

THE STARS WERE ALIGNED. I had a blast on the latest 12th Warriors Happy Hour with Michael Jenkins. The Ohio State legend joined members of Eleven Warriors’ selfless perks program on Thursday to discuss his college career, NFL career and life after football.

I could share many details about the call — and I likely will in the future — but I have to start with Jenkins’ breakdown of Holy Buckeye. Eleven Warriors ranked last offseason as Ohio State’s No. 1 play since 2000, which Jenkins called “special.”

“It’s pretty wild to think of,” Jenkins said. “When you go back and look at the magnitude of that play with everything on the line, and kind of the way Tressel Ball had been — 3 yards and a cloud of dust, take a deep shot, and it works out — I’m glad I caught it. You think of everything that’s happened since then in Ohio State history, and for that to be up there in a lot of Buckeye memories and minds, it’s very special.”

The play call for Holy Buckeye was King Right 64 Y-Shallow Swap. Jenkins said it was designed for tight end Ben Hartstock, who hauled in a 13-yard reception the play before. However, as we all know now, that’s not how it worked out.

“You’re really thinking that Ben Hartstock is going to get the little crossing route. We’d just get the first down and keep going down the field,” Jenkins said. “But the crazy part was the Swap for us. When you run the tight end on the Shallow, I always ran the Dig, and then (Chris) Gamble or the Z would run a Post.

“So, Swap, you know, we obviously swapped what we were doing. I’m supposed to run the post, and then Gamble’s supposed to run a Dig. But if you look at the film, like I just ended up running a Go and Gamble’s running a post. So we didn’t even run what we were supposed to run. And so that just lets you know, as my Dad always says, the stars were aligned that season.”

Yes, they were!

Akron Zips (Official Thread)

Akron Football Bowl Eligible for 2026

The Zips received a waiver from the NCAA on Wednesday that will immediately eliminate their postseason ban and remove practice restrictions that were in place for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

"We are very proud of our academic progress and excited about the opportunity to compete in the postseason this fall," Akron Head Football Coach Joe Moorhead stated.

Akron's bowl ban and restrictions were due to the 2021-22 academic year, when a coaching change and roster adjustments caused the football team's APR to fall below the required four-year average. The Zips, who finished the season 5-7 (4-4 in the MAC), their best record since the 2017 season, were not only ineligible for the postseason, but also forced to decrease their full practice hours from 20 hours to 16 hours each week throughout the season.

Akron is now eligible for the MAC football championship and a bowl game if it gets to at least six wins.

The Zips last played in a bowl game in 2017.
In other news, I was named eligible to receive the Nobel Prize.

OT Austin Siereveld, Captain (All B1G, National Champion)

Am betting that Siereveld is pushed inside this year (RG methinks), while one of the younger guys are put in the LT position. Is he valuable, certainly, and needs to have a place on the OL. Can see Bowen making changes, looking for that best front 5 to take the field. Can always stick a TE on the left to help with leakage, until the newbie 'gets it'. Certainly have upcoming talent at LT, only not ripe yet.
I think he is more naturally suited for OG, but you put your best guy there regardless when the necessity arises and we've seen this in the past (see Donovan Jackson). So I'm sure Austin will get some reps there and may end up being the guy there. Even if it's not his natural position at the next level, it helps the team and typically helps his draft stock showing the versatility to swing out to tackle.

Neal Shipley (PGA Golf Pro)

Kid seems to have his head screwed on straight. The leap from collegiate/Korn Ferry to the PGA tour is immense. Good ball striking is assumed, most are putting contests. The numbers on Script's post are numbers I'd kill for, but as noted, not quite good enough. Practice, practice, practice, and then hopefully get hot for four days in a tournament. Seems simple, but hard to do. Also, hard not to get discouraged. But as said, he's got his head screwed on straight. And, keep seeing his mug in some commercials, which has to be a good thing, as he's making money while he's trying to make some coin on the tour. Hopefully he keeps his card for another year. Neal, hit 'em long, straight, and not too often.

Lou Holtz (Longtime CFB HC, R.I.P.)

Was alive during those times, and somewhat sentient. Yes, the Dispatch had those quotes published, as well as the Citizen-Journal. Dad took me to Rotary Club where Woody was speaker. He was asked that question, and he unabashadly said, yes he did say that. Story of running out of gas in Xichigan, and him pushing his car across state line into Ohio because 'won't spend a nickel in that state', seems to me to be more of urban legend, but yeah, can see him saying that. I do know he hated losing Ohioans to Xichigan in recruiting battles, and although he never bad-mouthed those Ohio kids, he made side quips about their decision making processes. He truly was a bigger than life person.

In her own Instagram post, which was set to the tune of "I Said Yes" by Sunny Bloom, Polushkin shared several pictures from the couple's romantic day.

"We toured a beautiful winery in Chile and Rick got down on one knee ," Polushkin wrote.

The picturesque proposal was the second time Harrison popped the question. The first time he proposed was in his living room, but because his stepdaughters called it "the most unromantic proposal ever," he decided to do it again, TMZ first reported.

Harrison presented Polushkin with one of his most prized rings from his iconic pawn shop, with a representative telling the outlet that Harrison called the 6.5-carat pear-shaped ring "breathtaking, just like Angie is."

A GoFundMe effort launched on Monday is seeking to raise $18,000, and a little more than $5,000 had come in by late Friday morning.

"With his full knowledge and blessing, we’re raising emergency funds to cover more than $100,000 in medical bills and related expenses after a serious motorcycle accident in Tulum, Mexico," according to GFM organizer Aron Chambers.

"He suffered devastating injuries: 11 fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a concussion, and internal bleeding. He was rushed to a hospital in Playa del Carmen, where the reality of medical emergencies in Mexico hit hard — costs add up fast, and payment is often required upfront."

CB Jay Timmons (Official Thread)

Depth Chart Outlook

While Timmons can play both on the outside and at nickel, the slot is where he will likely begin his Ohio State career, as it's the most likely path to the field for Timmons as a freshman. Florida State transfer Earl Little Jr., who played safety in Tallahassee but is expected to play nickel at OSU, will hold the top spot in the depth chart. Still, Timmons could very well be in the second spot in the slot on the two-deep to begin his first season as a Buckeye.

In formations where Ohio State uses six defensive backs, Timmons could be on the field in those situations, competing for playing time with fellow freshman Jordan Thomas, Alabama transfer Cam Calhoun and redshirt sophomore Miles Lockhart, among others. He could also earn early playing time on special teams, where his speed and eye for the football could allow him to be an outstanding gunner early on.

Jermaine Mathews Jr. and Devin Sanchez are the favorites to start at cornerback to begin the 2026 season, but Timmons has the tools to compete for a top backup spot right away. Once Mathews and Little take their talents to the NFL following the 2026 season, Timmons could very well be a starter in Ohio State’s secondary as a sophomore in 2027.
