HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

Login to view embedded media You can do this with an older more experienced team. A team like how it was in the past, this method wouldn’t work. Too many young players. But when your team averages 23yo, they don’t need extensive practices. Most are self motivated at this point and don’t need a coach in their face to get after it. If you have more 1st and 2nd year players, practices, and hard ones at that are a necessity so they know the difference between college and HS and break bad habits. For example, Mylan Graham needed longer practices to create good habits, Devin McCuin won’t need that as he’s been in a college system and seen what it takes to play at a high collegiate level.

I still think you give him one more year, given the semi-shit hand he’s been dealt, but I don’t expect much improvement and would can him after next season if things go as expected.

He's absolutely getting one more year. The problem becomes is the AD willing to make a change if next year ends up similar? At this point I don't think they are. I think he's pretty much assured 4 years unless next year like a a 10 or less win level disaster. Ohio State should not be a "learn on the job" and hope they figure it out after a few years type of place but that's basically what our lazy athletic department has relegated us to with Diebler.

RB Legend Bey (Official Thread)

I hate when they call someone a"poor mans" anything. The poor are the ones fighting and winning or fucking wars and have been.

I'll take a poor hungry guy in a fight over a rich kid any day.
I think you’re missing the point of “poor man’s”. He’s saying he just reminds him of Hill. A young, less refined version of Hill. Just like Sayin is comped as a “poor man’s” Drew Brees. He plays similar in style but isn’t at the same level as Brees, but might be one day.

I think a lot of the Diebler hire defenders think everyone "hating" on him is expecting Ohio State to be an annual national title contender. This is not true. That is unrealistic but I don't think making the tourney without having to hope to back in more often that not is an "unrealistic" expectation at all. Ohio State should not be a "learning on the job* type place and that's exactly where we are at with Diebler. You are basically hoping he figures it out after 3 or 4 years and that's a lot of hoping.

NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

Strategically, it’s been really interesting how Seattle has annihilated NEs offense…action-wise, boring as fuck

I don't think New England was ever that great. They benefited from the weakest schedule in the NFL and then got a AFC playoff slate of 2 of the worst offensive lines in the NFL and the Broncos with a backup QB in the AFC title game.
