2026 NCAA Tournament General Discussion

Just sayin': I put all that squarely on the coach. Apparently he isn't calling TOs at the right time, properly motivating the players, drawing up the right plays for the matchups, and/or having the right 5 players on the court during crunch time.

Punches all the buttons I need to have a successful tourney: North Carolina, Kentucky, and Duke go bye-bye. Thank you, Jesus.

Just sayin': You left off the assholes from Ann Arbor.....:mad1:

Finally, a karma loss for Duke to even things out from 1992. When Laettner stomped on a guy’s chest on purpose, got a T but should have been ejected, and then hit the famous buzzer-beater from the top of the key against KY after catching the long pass from Grant Hill.

Not that I have any love for either KY or UConn. But it was the same situation, a win or lose shot in the final second of a game where the winner advanced to the Final Four.
Although the Boozer sons aren’t responsible for what their father, Carlos Boozer, did to the Cavaliers around 2006, they certainly remind me of him and his lying deeds. F Carlos Boozer.

Perhaps. They definitely can, and on paper should. But it's Zona, and they traditionally have found creative ways to choke.
Having lived in AZ for the last 30 I've seen them find miraculous ways to choke. However I believe that Peat is Bibby 2.0. He won 4 state titles in high school and is just a winner like Bibby. I wouldn't put money down but I like their chances. scUM is pretty solid though, they're gonna need to bring their A game and not lean on their two freshmen stars.

Duke did have one timeout left. Maybe they wanted to save it in case they needed to use it on the court. I don't even think that was a situation where the coach needed to set anything special up. It's not that hard to avoid turning the ball over in 10 seconds when the other team has to foul you to avoid letting the clock run out. This game showed why teams with elite PG play tend to do better in the tournament, you need guys who don't make mistakes when the game is on the line. Duke's weakness was lack of a pure PG and they ended up with 13 turnovers compared with 5 for UConn.
Yes. You need that one or two guys who are quick enough to get open for a clean inbound vs a full-court press…..and to dribble or pass to the open space. Boozer was not able to dribble or pass to the open space. He should have called a TO.
