Game Thread Illinois at tOSU, Sat. Sept. 26, TBA

Ohio State Linebackers Coach, College Football Hall of Famer James Laurinaitis to Ring Victory Bell Before Illinois Game

162772_h.jpg

“The Victory Bell was built in 1954 so that everybody in the area could hear when the Buckeyes won. Not everybody could get to the stadium; they didn't have as much TV and radio, there was not as much coverage as what you see, no TikTok back in 1954. So people in the area, when they heard the bell ring, they knew the Buckeyes won. It was a big deal,” Day said while speaking to official visitors and their families inside Ohio Stadium. “Then we started a tradition last year that we have some of our former players come back and ring the victory bell before a game. And next year, before the Illinois game, Coach Laurinaitis, who's being inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame, is going to ring the Victory Bell before that game.”

Game Thread tOSU at Texas, Sat. Sept 12, 7:30 pm ET, ABC

Am I forgetting something, but wasn't Brandon a 5* coming out of HS, and Carnell only a 4*? But, Carnell came reported in December, and Brandon in July, and Carnell had gained enough of an advantage that he never relinquished his position. Someone will correct my error, am certain. Anyway, do believe that Brandon will have a world-beater year, and will be (another) first round selection. And re: the thread, the DL will be stout enough that Texas QB won't have enough time to set up, let alone try to thread amongst our DBs...
You're right.

Also, on this game. We have the best OL, QB, Skill in this game. Give me Patricia over Muschamp all day too. Especially with a QB like Manning who’s really at his best as a runner. When was the last time a running QB hurt OSU?

Respectfully IMO No.

They’re doing this because that medicore QB is the best they have. Without this bum they’re lucky to make the playoffs otherwise they’re assured a first round exit.
See I'm not convinced they make the playoffs WITH him....frankly he's not good and Tech won't be as good as they were last year either.

The best part about this is Texas Tech is willingly going down this rabbit hole with a mediocre QB simply because they don't want to lose face by backing away from it all. Fucking morons.

Respectfully IMO Not the full concern of TT.

So has the NCAA done anything to try and fight back since the court ruling?

If this falls to the B12 having to do it then the real upside in this is another nail in the NCAA coffin.

I can live with this side show if it hastens the demise of the NCAA.
Your guess is as good as my own at this point.

I'd imagine there will be an appeal filed eventually but unless they think the Feds will take it up, that's probably a dead end.

Last concert you saw?

Just saw Metric for the third time with Stars and Broken Social Scene as openers. Good, high energy show. Played the Fillmore in Denver, which I’d consider a medium-sized theatre venue. I stood about 25 feet from the stage.
Are you in Denver? Have you seen anything at Mission Ballroom? Saw Streetlight Manifesto there a few years ago. It was an outstanding sounding room.
