QB1 Julian Sayin (All B1G, B1G Frosh of Year, All American, National Frosh of Year, National Champion)

Ryan Day's newest comments on Julian Sayin will fire up Ohio State fans

The Ohio State head coach had some good things to say about the returning QB.

In an interview with Jim Rome, Day says that he has a lot of faith in the ability of Sayin to keep growing, even as next season goes along.

"There's not many guys his age with one year of playing that have made it to New York City...For his first year as a starter, he did a lot of great things. This is one of the few times in my career that I've had a quarterback come back to play for two years in a row...The best quarterbacks are the ones that do that: they get better year after year, and as we've all seen, experience in college football matters."

Day understands that Sayin lacked experience, and now that he has that, the Buckeyes should be able to play better in the games late in the season that they struggled in. Sayin's worst games were in the Big Ten Championship and the Cotton Bowl, two of the games they needed to win to help complete their goals.

Ohio State is going to be one of the favorites to win it all next season.

BP Fantasy Baseball est. 2008 (Current Champion = Ahiacitian)

A little surprised we are back to saves and holds as two separate stats, but I don’t really want to argue against it as my idea of both wins and quality starts is not great either. These stats are as good as any I guess.

Where did we land on 6 vs 8 playoff teams? Did the 6ers catch up?

Honestly that was last category I was debating on. Suggestion on combining that one and what pitching category to add?

Most people wanted to stay at 6 playoff spots

Jake Diebler (Head Coach)

Doesn't fit the "Diebler can't coach" narrative that some like to push here at all.

Also, let's be real, this team HAS improved. They were neck-and-neck with a bad ND team in November, and they looked dead in the water after losing against a bad Pitt team in December. They have lacked a top-tier big man and it shows sometimes. After the Pitt loss in particular it looked like they weren't going to be tough enough in the frontcourt to make the tournament. Yet they have grown and shown more fight, particularly in going after rebounds.

Mobley started the season not playing particularly well & has blossomed into the type of offensive weapon that you'd hope for him to be. Chatman sat the bench because of his defense, one game he committed 3 fouls in just 1 minute, but he has grown into being a solid bench player. Bynum is a true freshman who went from bench player to starter and has helped the team immensely. Njegovan went from being a guy who barely played last season to a guy who's actually helping provide some solid minutes as backup big man. Tilly has grown into playing against stronger and tougher competition. Bruce has taken a step forward individually even as the team around him has stepped up. They haven't even had Noel for most of the Big Ten season, have battled injuries causing 3/4 of their top scorers to miss conference games, and yet they're in the thick of the hunt for the NCAA tournament. While many have not seen this team as a product of a good coaching job, I would disagree.
