Nevertheless, this fellow always seems to land on his feet. Tennessee, USC, Bama, Ole Miss, and now LSU. Pretty heady positions. Not terribly impressed by his accomplishments at each stop. But hey, seems like a dearth of competent coaches out there. Or he's got a good publicist.

when we hire a guy, I usually look at his resume and try to find the good at his previous stops.

he won 10 games four times in 6 seasons at Ole Miss.

that's more 10 win seasons than Ole Miss had in total from the JFK assassination til Covid.

Will concede that Kiffin was part of Saban's coach-reclamation-project, and he was the face of the offense at Bama. Rebuilt his worth as a coach, and at Ole Miss, did better than expected. I'm a doubter, to be certain, so we'll see if he has the 'legs' to maintain at LSU. More wealth, better players, = no excuses. Certainly will stay tuned to watch this show.....

The problem is that functional morons like Les Miles and Ed Orgeron accidentally fell into having enough talent to override their stupidity. LSU somehow can withstand ineptitude that would cripple other programs. I wonder if they could've survived Bill Davis or Tim Beck or Arthur Smith

He has burned so many bridges and still has a street to drive out of town.
he gets a lot more hate than he should in this department.

other than his Tennessee exit, he's never made a move that other coaches wouldn't have made while trying to climb the ladder.

He got a HC job in the NFL when he was too young, still very immature, and obviously not ready....that ended in a firing.
then the Tennessee Fiasco.
USC was a tough spot. on probation with scholarship reductions, so not nearly as successful as they'd hoped...fired.

but look at his career path since then....

OC at a Power 5 school (3 seasons)
Head Coach of a Group of 5 School (3 Seasons)
Head Coach of a Power 5 School below the top tier (6 Seasons)
Head Coach at a destination type job.

people bash him for "burning bridges" and "lack of loyalty"

but nobody says shit about Deboer
whose path looks like ...

OC at Power 5 school (1 season)
Head Coach at Group of 5 school (3 seasons)
Head Coach at a Power 5 school (2 seasons)
Head Coach at a Destination type job
