Indiana Hoosiers (your shinebox, go f'n get it)

All that just to win 7gms and play in the Pop Tarts bowl
Yeah - last year was fun, but they'll be back to "Indiana" soon enough.

Check out this OOC schedule: Old Dominion, Kennesaw State, and Indiana State.

They also play at Oregon and at Penn State. 2025 Oregon probably won't be 2024 Oregon, but I think they will beat Indiana. And Penn State will, too.
If they go 6-1 against the rest of their conference schedule, I'd be shocked.
I think they'll go 9-3, 6-3, at best this year.

Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

I wonder when schools stopped being a place of higher education and became just another hustle.
Maybe always?
I think doctors, lawyers, and a handful of other careers really do require a 4-year degree, plus some post-grad schooling, probably.
I'm an engineer. And, while what I'm doing now has very little to do with any classes I took, I for sure didn't need ALL of my classes. We had to take 7 classes (3 credits each) in arts & humanities. 4 of those had to be a sequence - all in one subject. At least 2 had to be in "arts" and 2 had to be in "humanities". They said this all was to make you a "more-rounded" student. Bullshit. College is to prepare you for working, and my music theory classes don't help in any way.
As for what I'm doing now, I couldn't fill up a curriculum of 4 semesters of classes that would be useful, let alone 8. And even if I fluffed up the curriculum to make 4 full semesters, anyone graduating would be way ahead of where I was when I started here.

2027 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Relatedly, Sam Spiegelman(Rivals) reporting that Ohio State is surging for #1 QB in 2027 Elijah Haven.

Per MG:
Ohio State has to play catch up here with LSU and Florida but they clearly got his attention on the recent visit.

He's also probably the best player I've seen in the 2027 class so far.
Edmunds seems pretty all-in and doesn't seem to be fazed by it.

Don't think OSU is breaking the bank there either.

2026 CA QB Luke Fahey is a Buckeye!!!

Per 11w poster:
Another little bit of info that I didn't really see reported much........Luke Fahey won the Alpha Dog at the most recent 7-on-7 tournament in California, with his team defeating Mater Dei (C Henry did not play, but TE Mark Bowman did). He won the award over other quarterbacks in the competition that included Mater Dei QB's Ryan Hopkins (Wisconsin commit) and Furian Inferrera (Minnesota commit), and La Habra QB DJ Mitchell. Fahey also won the award over........Brady Edmonds.

Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

They are just a reason for colleges to step up to the federal free money window and collect.

Kind of like you are waxing poetic about student athletes, I wonder when schools stopped being a place of higher education and became just another hustle.
I'm sure there are others on this board more qualified to answer that than I, but something happened between about 1992-1994 and accelerated between 2002-2008 that increased the amount of money loaned to students to pay for college. Anytime that much money flows into something, it's bound to turn into a hustle. And whenever the root cause of a problem is too much money flowing into a questionable investment, my suspicion is that the bankers are up to no good. But that's just a hunch on my part.

Workplace annoyances

I manage implementations for a SaaS company. My last couple of projects the Client PMs seem to want to tell us how to implement our software. Mind you they’re typically IT PMs who know Jack about actual business needs of the Agency they represent.

I actually had the PM of a current client tell me that someone on another project told him he needed to stay in his lane. It was all I could do to keep from busting out laughing and saying yeah you you need to fucking stay in your lane. This is what my team does every day and we’re damn good at it.
