If I told you before the game Thornton would have 7, Mobley 5, Royal 4 and Tilly 0 (on 0-6 shooting) & Wisconsin scored 49 the first half, you'd probably take a 6-point halftime deficit with that info. Chatman and Bynum keeping the offense afloat, but gotta find some answers defensively.
Another game that can go either way. After watching other teams at the top of this league play, the biggest difference is the passing/dribbling this team seems to do vs those other teams. Every player seems to still head fake or dribble too long before passing. Chatman and Mobley the only two who seem to just go for it. Bynum is starting to get there. This team needs to think of the next pass when the ball is coming their way. Nebraska and Michigan whip the ball around so fast it makes it hard to guard. Wisky doing the same today. We tend to dribble too long and too far in the zone only to throw a bad pass or set up for a terrible shot.
Wisconsin shot 57% from the field and 47% (7-15) from 3. Not sure what the Buckeyes can change up defensively to hold them down more, but whatever they tried the first half (not guarding Rapp closely seemingly was part of the plan) certainly didn't work.
Tilly was 0-6 in the first half, and all of them were in the high-percentage shot category. I get that he's been the best big this season, but he can't be the best right now.
It’s amazing how many opposing players shoot out of their slumps vs OSU. Or have a player who averages 6-8 ppg go off for 28-30. Seems to happen every game that this team has a decent chance of winning. Ridiculous how much it happens
I did. Beanie was great. Too bad he got hurt vs Texas in the bowl game or else we win that one going away
We’ve had some great ones….before Maurice it was Robert Smith. Before that the recruiting was not so national. But if it were Byars would have been like this.
Tilly has the lower leg injury he's playing through, but he has certainly missed some shots you'd hope he would make. Royal the same - Diebler said in pregame that he is not 100% for this game.
