2026 tOSU Offense Discussion

Good article. I’ve been thinking about this since the season ended. Per the article, that sweet spot seems to be anything over 200 yards rushing. Julian finished with -44 yards for the year in 2025. Only two quarterbacks since 2014 have rushed for under 100 yards and won the championship.

Julian doesn’t have to go win a game with his legs. He just needs to move the chains some and keep the offense on schedule occasionally. It amounts to roughly 20 yards a game and likely more like 2-3 seven to ten yard runs per game. In other words 2-3 first downs or so.

I have doubts they’ll include Julian in the run game. Ryan Day never has and he’s normally gone out of his way to NOT run the QB.

OL Toby Wilson (National Champion, Asst. OL Coach USF)

Former Ohio State Wide Receivers Coach Brian Hartline Hires Former Buckeye Wide Receiver K.J. Hill, Offensive Lineman Toby Wilson at South Florida

Brian Hartline is infusing some more Buckeye flavor to his first coaching staff at South Florida.

The former Ohio State wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator, now head coach of the Bulls, has hired former Buckeye wide receiver K.J. Hill as an offensive analyst and offensive lineman Toby Wilson as an assistant offensive line coach.

Wilson is the son of former Ohio State offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson and played for the Buckeyes for four seasons after walking on to the team in 2021. He served a depth role during his entire career, playing 12 snaps as a senior in 2024. He'll work as an offensive line assistant under USF offensive line coach Mike Sollenne, who worked as an assistant offensive line coach at OSU from 2022 through 2024.

2026 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

Think of it this way. Right now the top 4 get a useless bye, then we get 2-3 P4 first round games and 1-2 games against G6 teams. If we go to 16 and 1-2 are G6 then instead of a bye the top seeds get a warm up game and we get 6-7 P4 first round games. I’ll take it.
And I always though that a coach liked a bye before playing a very good team since it gave his team the advantage of having 2 weeks to prepare.

The Jerome Schottenstein Center (Official Thread)

I certainly get that Gee was effusive about the Schottenstein's contribution to the bball edifice, was very deserved. Also am skeptical about Bjork NOT capitalizing on naming rights, and tossing away potential millions to add to the Athletic Department's coffers. Back then, nobody could have foreseen that the venerable Schottenstein's would have taken one of their flagship companies into bankruptcy/insolvency, etc. Someone, somewhere must have built a clause or three into the contract (there's a contract for everything, folks) forseeing the 'what if' stuff that could happen. And finally, wait until we get a scoreboard that does more than share who's on the floor, making points/fouls, etc. Maybe it'll sell popcorn as well. PS, always hear about the 'new' scoreboard etc, but I'd like to hear what enhancements are being added/included. Feels like technology gone nuts....

Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Any thoughts on the upcoming #1 v #2 Ohio State Buckeyes? From what I hear/read, PSU is the juggernaut that everyone is chasing. And maybe in reality, their #2's might be the actual #2 in the nation? Or am I overstating. tOSU has done a great job, and believe (?) I read that smushed Iowa and Nebraska in a meet, all at once? Pretty heady stuff certainly. Anyway, will look to see if B10 channel will cover. Cale has done a yeoman's job to elevate PSU into a team that is dominating everyone. One wonders if PSU is allocating big bucks to this program (wouldn't be unlikely) to maintain the dominance. Probably more important since there's nothing like the NFL waiting wrestlers at the end of the rainbow....Go Bucks!

Ohio State @ #3 ttun, Friday Jan. 23, 8pm EST, FOX

Scared. Tilley got blocked early on and the rest of the game his legs shook when he got the ball afraid to shoot unless it was a 3 which he should shoot 100 times per day for the test of the year and get more confident in because that and the drive to the basket should be his game. He's too soft otherwise for the B1G. Guy scored last night but should and could have had 30 against a top team.
The problem I have with the bench is that they aren’t bad shooters, they just refuse to shoot when open. I’ve never witnessed a team who pump/head fakes as much as these teams have the last few seasons. Just shoot the open jumper
When Cupps and White have shot, both seem to rush their release. They may have been scorers in high school but at this level they have a hard time getting the shots off they used to.

As for Tilly, the guy has absolutely no vertical so he’s not able to finish going to the rim or shooting over the top of anyone.

SF/PF Devin Royal (transfer to Villanova)

Unfortunately he was held to season-lows of 4 points & 1 rebound.
He held himself to the 4 points by standing at the 3 point line. He and Bynum need put on a leash for their own good and the good of the team.

They can excel at mid range and the basket but they selfishly stay out there and shoot. Of course the occasional shot wiill go in if you shoot enough but the ones that don't fall are wasted trips and it leaves the potential best rebounders out of the play. If I'm preaching to the choir I apologize but room for error against really good teams is minuscule enough as it is without making it easier on them.

How's the weather?

Dude, if you guys lose electric for an amount of time they are predicting, PLEASE have a back-up heat source or access to a warming center.

two truck will full tanks of gas as an emergency.
i also have a propane fire pit and a 250 gallon propane tank (yes it’s ventilated).

neither option are “permanent” but can be used to keep warm in spurts or so.

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

Nathan Scheelhasse? Wasn’t this dude a mediocre Illini QB just a couple of years ago? If they are going to go a different direction from Generic Retread 11b (Schwartz), this is the kind of guy they’re gonna have to take a hack at; somebody nobody else is really interested in as a HC, limited resume, and just young/dumb enough to think he’s good enough to turn around the fortunes off a dead franchise.
