-Offensive turnovers early. This team should have put up 41.

- The special teams gaffe.

Both HUGE momentum changers.

My issues primarily stem from the defense.

- Mental and execution lapses. DBs late and taking bad angles coming from depth. Ransom has been the biggest culprit the last couple years; highlighted by that big Dillon TD run late. Gabriel is a good athlete, not an elite runner that should have shook him like that.
- Oregon popping yardage on simple weakside runs because our edges fly too far upfield to compensate for a lack of elite twitch and bend. tOSU has had great defenses without any singular elite pass rusher. Layering your rush, being aggressive, technical, and maintaining gap integrity is all possible.

- coverage that is too aggressive on the perimeter when the pass rush isn't there. Giving up the long ball like the Bullets did last night was tragic, and Denzel lost a lot of money.

That's all I have for the moment until I rewatch.

Talent is necessary to be good.

Consistency is the key to being great.
This team lacks consistency.
Agreed on all counts. I will reiterate though, that I am not seeing that Chip has made this offense dynamic, yet. Flashes maybe.

Didn't JJ initiate contact before 5 yards and so that would be a legal push? Or was it a borderline or a clearly correct call?

Could his one-handed catch on an end zone fade last week have been called OPI?
It doesn’t matter. They called OPI. You can hate it but it is what it is.

Brown!? Sorry no. There’s only one other possibility on that bench at QB and that’s Sayin. My biggest concern with Will is his arm strength. Hard to understand with the receivers we have that we don’t stretch the field more. That tells me there’s something the coaches are concerned about. Chip needs to stop with the Horizontal shit and the slow developing plays. Maybe not run on 2nd and long every fricking time. A little tempo would be nice to see.
I wondered when we brought in a kid from K State if he could truly play at the level the B1G would need to win a NC. Maybe he can, I don't know. One thing I do know is the team has to get a lot better all around, and maybe they will. This was like a playoff game, IMHO. Gave up a lot of yards. 2015 Bucks gave up some 400 yards iirc to Alabama to get to the NC, and won it. I expected more from Chip and Knowles.

We played a good team and it showed who we are.

I'm just not seeing NC winning play from this team.

I thought bringing in Chip and having Knowles would do it, but I'm not truly seeing that Chip has made this offense that great at all. I thought we'd be way better by now. Knowles D has to get pressure to be at NC winning caliber, and be better all around. Team has not gelled.

Howard is really that much better than Brown and the others, or, did he just get the start because we brought him here for that reason? I guess we'll find out what we have down the stretch. Playoffs? Well, I hope so, we should be top 12. NC? Things have got to get way better.

HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

Not sure if it’s been said, but pre-game was just an absolute “WTF” moment….

Day says to sideline reporter and I’m paraphrasing: “we want to come out and play a clean game and get it to the 4th quarter where we think we can win”.

I’m sorry bro, but you have arguably one of the most stacked teams in college football history….prior to last night some mock drafts had OSU with (7) 1st Rd picks in the next draft (Egbuka, JTT, Sawyer, Burke, Jackson, Igbunoson, Judkins).

The mindset is just so soft….that’s a game u go into Autzen and show the world how talented you are…..not to play anyone close into the 4th and try to win it from there. I’m shocked he’d actually say something like that.

For the first time, and I’ve stood by this dude the entirety of his tenure, I’m thinking, he just ain’t it.

He gives up playcalling to be more of a HC and his situational awareness was pathetic. Awful clock management, awful Special Teams, and just in general, awful situational awareness. I could point out (9) examples last night but the most glaring was Oregon kicking off from the 50 and blasting it into our front line of kickoff team. Guy I’m next to says this would be a great opportunity for onside kick….I said I’d just try and blast it into a player and see what happens. Sure enough, Oregon rips a kick right at our front row and recover the football. You tell those guys to step back 3-5 yards in anticipation of that, and that doesn’t happen…..

How he doesn’t call a TO prior to the 2 minute drill to save 9 seconds? Like, that’s an automatic TO to save time and he just lets the game wind down to the 2 min stoppage. I just can’t stand bad game management and he’s been awful at it for a while now….

We saw the drawback of adding the West Coast teams to the conference. It's hard to go all the way out there and win a football game. I don't know why they waited until Friday morning to leave. Thursday classes? No place to practice? NCAA needs to figure out conference alignments that make sense.

Regarding the 7 losses against top 5 teams, we know at least one of those will probably be vacated, assuming tcun was top 5 in 2022. If OSU wins the B1G championship, that's two victories against top 5 teams coming up. And I think OSU will be favored.
