2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

Why would anyone be shocked by this ? ESPN spends the entire season propping up the SEC rankings. Of course there going to continue with the fuckery through the final selections.
It makes me furious when I hear the talking hairdos become all indignant at the notion. Disney is a public company,, and the primary legal fiduciary duty of the board, officers and senior executives of a public company is to maximize shareholder value. If they didn't work very hard to build up their fully owned SEC property while tearing down the fully competing B1G brand, not only could they be fired with cause but they could literally be the subjects of shareholder lawsuits.

I know that someone like Herby is too vapid to understand this, and he just duck quacks whatever line he's given (he's double plus good at it). He just needs to shut his trap about things that are beyond his cognitive abilities.

2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

The committee has ALOT to answer for this season. I’m all for bringing back the computers to determine our Top 12.

But the fact that Bama didn’t move at all after losing by 21 and Georgia didn’t move it all after winning by 21 is pretty indicative of a “let’s just get through this bullshit so we don’t have to answer any more questions” mindset from the committee.
I figured OSU would drop to 3 or 4 and UGA would move up to 2 after last Saturday. At the end of the day, I don't think it will make much difference though.

tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Would opine that many/if not all of us project what WE'd do with that kind of jingle at 18 years old. Some of us were collecting pop bottles to turn in for 5 cents to take our dolly out to a movie and popcorn. What some of these kids are getting is life-changing money. At least for an 18 year old. Times have certainly changed, and age/income level of parents certainly factors in. Certainly don't mean to imply that these kids come from homes with dirt-packed floors, but closer to that than to being transported here and there by a Bentley. Anyway, have tried to infuse with our daughter the need to invest at an early age, for her retirement (decades away), but am suggesting that mayhaps there's a larger need at home in the present.....anyway, guess trying to paint a broad-brush scenario without a ton of knowledge.....
I hear you, and many people have their opinions on what will happen with these young men(and women). But from speaking with a number of parents of HS athletes in the Cincinnati and Dayton area, I can assure that times are changing. This isn't kids being given a bag of money and they and their parents are expected to just figure it out. #1 the money isn't the exorbitant amount that people expect it to be. #2 many of these parents are getting educated and are quite aware of the pitfalls. #3 outside management is being used to assist so taxes are paid and money is invested.

Bingo.

Edit: NTT has been quite the rage at the NFL level this year. I've watched Coach Schwartz in CLE really lean on more of its structures being that it can look like single high pre and post snap.
