Perhaps a good time to remember Dennis Ketchum, the real Dennis the Menace. His father appears to have been the poster child for a bad parent and he lived a very sad life until ending up in Columbus. I met him on Pearl Alley back in the day. For all the he went through, he seemed like a really nice guy and I believe he found peace in Columbus.

See this link (The true story of Dennis the Menace), which is perhaps said more directly by a Reddit poster here (link).

Taken from Reddit.
Unlike his cartoon alter ego, Ketcham did not lead a storybook life. He had learning disabilities as a boy. An alcoholic mother and a father with a busy work schedule meant there was little time left for him. After his mother filed for divorce in 1959, he was sent to a boarding school. Soon after, his mother died from an accidental drug overdose at age 41. His father remarried to Jo Anne Stevens and moved the family to Geneva, Switzerland. Ketcham had a difficult time in Swiss boarding school, so his father sent him to a boarding school in the United States while Hank and his new wife remained in Europe.
After graduating, Ketcham joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. Upon his return, he was treated for post-traumatic stress disorder and drifted from one low-paying job to another. In the late 1970's Dennis worked at the old Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus, Ohio. By 1990, he was living in Ohio and estranged from his father.

OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

It will be very interesting to see how the rest of the portal period plays out. We have kind of a dead period here until April 10th, then I'm sure there will be a lot of activity between the 10th and the 22nd when the portal closes. The House v. NCAA case may be resolved soon, which could set caps on how much schools can pay for NIL - this is one of the reasons so many transfers and schools have quickly worked to lock up their deals, they don't want to have to worry about someone else stopping them from making the deal they want.

Ohio State Buckeyes are showing interest in a transfer portal player that fits just what they badly need

Ohio State still needs to add some size in the front court and they are showing interest in another transfer center.

The Buckeyes have been in contact with Grand Canyon C Duke Brennan in the transfer portal

According to Rivals, the Buckeyes are one team that has reached out to Grand Canyon transfer C Duke Brennan. The 6-foot-10 center has also heard from schools like West Virginia, USC, Rutgers, Clemson, and Iowa amongst others.

Brennan is heading into his senior season and averaged 10.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in 30 starts for Grand Canyon. As a sophomore, Brennan started 35 games for Grand Canyon and put up 7.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Brennan started his career at Arizona State and he appeared in 36 games with the Sun Devils, but played in just nine minutes per game.

Ohio State has three surefire starters at the moment with Bruce Thornton, John Mobley Jr., and Devin Royal returning. Tilly could be another starter for the Buckeyes, with just one starting spot remaining.

Bringing in two seven-footers from the transfer portal in total would give the Buckeyes the needed size. Bradshaw’s addition didn’t go as planned and the Buckeyes have to improve from that.

Meredith Gaudreau, the widow of late NHL player Johnny Gaudreau, announced the arrival of the couple's third child.

Carter Michael Gaudreau was born on April 1, seven months after Johnny and his brother, Matthew, suffered fatal injuries when they were struck while cycling by a suspected drunk driver.

"I had our third baby! 4/1/25," Meredith posted Monday on Instagram, noting that the child has the same middle name and the "exact same" size (20.5 inches) and birthweight (8 pounds, 3 ounces) as his father.

"He looks exactly like his daddy too," she wrote alongside photos of her and the baby and their two other children, daughter Noa and son Johnny. "I love you so much my baby! We are going to have so much fun. I can't wait to give you the best life, my special boy forever."
