$4.29 here, how about you?

Believe it was Shakespeare that coined the 'great unwashed', but whomever said, means the common person. And while I bathe semi-regularly, do consider myself a common person. Joe Sixpack just doesn't resonate as much. Anyway, if you follow the market, Big Oil is doing well during these times. Countries without our oil reserves, not so much.
You could have the largest oil reserves in the world but if the people who occupy the land above it doesn't have the know how to extract, refine and ship it, doesn't do them much good.

A lot of hyperbole as people line up to show who can be more outraged and clutch their pearls over the "integrity" of CFB is all I see.

The guy made micro bets at IU when he was buried in the depth chart and had no influence on games, never bet on his team at UC or TT. That fact pattern does not equal 1919 Black Sox or Pete Rose.

Reality is more that the sport of CFB has always lacked "integrity" depending on how you define that or how far you want to play that charade. What people are actually upset about is the TT oil booster just blatantly buying the program into relevance whether that be buying players via NIL or local judges for a ruling. It feels like he's cheating but under the new rules, he isn't.

Floating the idea of refusing to play the TT women's soccer team over this is as absurd as the judges ruling.
Re: Sorsby admitted to placing at least 9,000 impermissible bets (exceeding $90,000) on his team’s games while being a member of Indiana football program in 2022

Just sayin': Yeah, but those "micro bets" really added up. The NCAA rules on betting apply to all members of the team, i.e. not just the QB1 and/or just to all players listed in the "2 deep" lineup.

WR Jeremiah Smith (All B1G, B1G Freshman of Year, B1G WR of Year, Unanimous All-American, 2025 Rose Bowl Off MVP, National Champion)

He mentioned he was offered 10 mill to transfer and somewhere I saw he made 2.5 or something last year. While I don't think OSU matched you'd think they would have to at least up their present number.

Just sayin': I know that you can't always believe what is reported; however, here is what was reported....

Ohio State Splashes $5M on Jeremiah Smith; Forces Program to Extend Roster Value to $43.5M

The Ohio State Buckeyes put together a reported $5 million package to keep star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith in Columbus. It shows how far programs are now willing to go in the NIL era. Smith’s reported package became one major piece of a much costlier Ohio State roster, which is now valued at nearly $43.5 million.

Think of a team like a family budget, where the entire Ohio State roster cost around $35 million last year. When rival schools wave $10 million offers to poach your best player, securing Smith sets a new baseline for everyone else. This dynamic forced the Buckeyes to stretch their total roster value to nearly $43.5 million just to keep their championship core intact.

At this point, the WR is a favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. He recorded 1,243 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in 13 games. He became one of the few Buckeyes to cement 1000 yards in 2 back-to-back seasons. However, the youngster still displays loyalty towards his team and aims to win a College Football Playoff national championship with the Buckeyes. One of the main schools rumored to be hellbent on making Smith jump ship is the WR’s hometown, Miami.

Not going to happen. The oil booster pretty much runs not only the AD but the entire university down there. They're all in on Sorsby.

As far as the boycott goes, the other schools might have a play in arguing that ttu is breaching the contract by playing a player ruled ineligible by the ncaa. They could also make the argument that given Sorsby's addiction (HINT: he ain't cured after 30 days), the integrity of the games would be fundamentally in question.

All you need is an injunction by a friendly local court and that runs the clock until the season's over. That's how it works I believe.
It rains mud there.

Carry on.

2026 Spring Practices, Spring Game, and other Tidbits

Affirmative. They have a YouTube channel called Buckeye Insiders
Another case of "As the Buckeye Beat Turns."

Candidly, I'm not surprised that the two of them jumped. Virtually everyone else involved in BH was completely unwatchable. I can go either way on Juck, but the rest of them is pretty much a hard pass for me.

Nice enough people, I'm sure... but just zero ability to carry a 'cast.

Hopefully, this will push TTU to push Sorsby into the supplemental draft. Let the NFL deal with this.

Should semipro/college players be paid, or allowed to sell their stuff? (NIL and Revenue Sharing)

Absolutely. If it's one conference not wanting to go to the party, that conference looks like a bunch of nerds. But if it's both the Big Ten and SEC choosing to opt out of the playoffs and instead play each other, that becomes the real party. The "official" CFB playoffs will be the NIT.

4 Big Ten teams. 4 SEC teams. The playoffs can be James Madison and the Big 12 and the ACC and whatever other conference they find. Set your own schedule for the games. Don't balk at trying to avoid competing time slots with the playoffs. Would you rather watch Florida State - Baylor or Alabama - Georgia?

In a couple of years, announce that the Big Ten and SEC are looking to expand, and watch the rest of the teams in the country cut each other's throats just to be considered for a spot in the Big Ten or SEC.

The more they deny a super conference the more you know it's been discussed and is likely half way to being real.

It's the only logical conclusion to this UNLESS the B1G and SEC all of a sudden want to subsidize 100 or so smaller schools with tv money the SEC/B1G could keep for themselves.

Discounting the odds of an outbreak of that particular strain of insanity, I don't really see how the super league doesn't happen at some point (exact size and shape TBD).

He said it best. Having an addiction does not free you from consequences of said addiction
