2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Was listening to BuckeyeScoop last night and Nevadabuck mentioned something pretty interesting (yes I know some dont like their product, but I actually think BuckeyeScoop has been more enjoyable to watch/listen to since Barton was replaced by B. Moses)...

He says he has heard that OSU will make a big push to use NIL funds at the end of the recruiting cycle to push for some major flips (ie Wafle, Hill, Womack, Odom). Similar to how Alabama would be slow out of the gate and then boom, on signing day they would sign a bunch of blue chippers and end up with the number 1 class.

He says that it was interesting how Ryan responded to the question about the 2026 class, and that December is when NIL really matters. This is why Ryan is confident in a strong finish, and he kind of made that apparent during his press conference yesterday.

Birm may have mentioned something similar, and it sounds like a good strategy. Continue to communicate with them until the end, and make an offer that they can't refuse, while also showcasing your product on and off the field.

2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

Lesmerises reading off the national ranking of punt return yards on average in the Day era today on the podcast was alarming. I know we all know that punt return is not a strength, but man, I just truly don't understand how it's possible they can be literally one of the worst in the country at it.
I'd like to see them not use starters to return punts (or kicks) but instead use backups who aren't likely to see the field much this year and have them really focus on that task. Besides the myriad of WRs or even DBs who might do well, I'd like to see what Sam Williams-Dixon might do. I also don't know if they just don't scout other teams' punters enough or what, but it seems like our punt returner is often too far back to come up and catch shorter punts or too far up to catch long ones. It's truly baffling how long they've been lousy at punt returning no matter who's back there or who's responsible for special teams coaching. The blocking usually seems pretty mediocre as well.

2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments - NCAA: no wins taken away, no postseason ban

I bet they open it up more while Moore is gone, the new OC is a spread guy. It will not go well. When Moore returns they go back to putting 9 OL on the field. Underwood becomes Captain Handoff with an occasional bootleg.

Not that I think Nebraska is a great team by any means but I think trying to open it up on the road against them with the freshman QB would be a disaster

New name for ‘26 Edge. Just offered by WVU. I imagine the visit this weekend is to get verified height/weight and get-to-know type of thing. But maybe a fall back option down the road. Normally I hate that we only look at in-state options for development types rather than flipping guys from other BIG schools. But the Chaz Coleman debacle will cause headaches for years to come, so I’ve come around. Film looks pretty good, and has great wingspan and measurables.
