QB1 Julian Sayin (All B1G, B1G Frosh of Year, All American, National Frosh of Year, National Champion)

Can't wait to see how much he progresses from FR to SO. Much of his success is going to depend on the depth of the O line so that he gets adequate protection in the final games of the year, but the majority will depend on his development iro some of the issues noted earlier in this thread. I am a big fan.

So if Jeremiah drops a ball or Sayin overthrows a player thats Hartlines fault? If Styles misses a tackle thats Walts fault?
For the record, Sonny would like to make it clear that he does NOT miss tackles and this is clearly a far-fetched hypothetical unless, of course, it is intended to reference his brother.

Ryan needs an experienced play caller and someone who knows how to establish the run. And an adult in the booth to suggest varying the snap count. This hire should help nicely in those areas.

No one thought that was Brian, but the alternative was to lose the best wr recruiter in the history of the game, so he was promoted with those limitations.

Ryan does not need any help with passing schemes, other than possibly getting back to a wr rotation and perimeter blocking. Versus indiana and Miami, they schemed wrs open plenty often, the young QB simply was fleeing too often (in reality or out of fear of what had just happened).

Brian had his flaws, but overall still unleashed an absurdly talented pair of WRs, with KDW, Henry and Guilford coming in, and brown up next. His inevitable departure only cost them a few backups and a west Coast wr always flirting with usc.

In the end, it was likely the ol recruiting/development that was the true achilles heel. Whatever the schematic flaws, or Julian's youth, or the depth issues at wr, they narrowly lost to the two championship game participants. It almost worked.

P.s. if we are fixating on single seasons, steer clear of chip in San fran.

Right, but that's besides the point for a second. I need you to admit saying the Steelers won the division and made the playoffs as a feather in Smith's cap was.....misleading.
But did he win the division? Where did I mislead?
If you want to admit you misled by cherry picking stats because you didn't like the hire

Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Holy crap does Peacock fucking suck. The quality of this feed is awful, and it’s so dark they look like they’re playing in a basement. The Cavs channel or whatever it is locally is 10,000 times better.
It’s possible you were watching I’m 4K which can result in a “darker” picture depending on your TV settings. Per Google AI:

Your 4K TV is dark because of settings like Energy Saving, HDR (High Dynamic Range)'s intended dark scenes, Picture Modes (Cinema/Filmmaker), backlight settings, or the content itself, but you can fix it by adjusting backlight/brightness, disabling eco modes, using brighter picture presets (like Vivid), or ensuring your HDMI cable supports HDR. Sometimes, a TV's hardware simply can't reproduce HDR's full brightness range, making content seem murky

2027 OR DB Josiah Molden (Oregon Verbal)

Oregon is viewed as the early favorites for him and Dan Lemming and the Ducks have been doing their best job at keeping him out West. Especially knowing that losing him could result in him going to fellow Big Ten schools USC, Washington or Ohio State, who appears to be Oregon’s biggest competition for Molden right now.

2027 LA WR Miguel Whitley (Ole Miss Verbal)

Ohio State has been recruiting Whitley for some time now and officially offered him in June. He will likely schedule official visits with all five of his finalists but until then, no school will likely separate itself from the pack. If there is a favorite, home-state school LSU may be have a slight edge, but it is minimal at most.

Ohio Stadium aka THE Horseshoe (Official Thread)

THE BIRTH OF OHIO STADIUM. Still hunkered down amid Winter Storm Fern? I’ve got something to help you pass the time.

Over the weekend, WOSU Public Media posted a 2001 documentary titled “The Birth of Ohio Stadium” to its YouTube channel. The film looks back at the campaign to build the Horseshoe in the early 1900s — from fundraising and skepticism to construction — and traces how it evolved into one of the most recognizable symbols in college football.

It’s worth a watch, especially if you enjoy old photos, deep Buckeye lore and reminders that people once complained about Ohio Stadium being unnecessary.

Hearing for Alabama's Bediako delayed; NCAA asks judge to step down

The hearing on Alabama center Charles Bediako's request for a preliminary injunction has been delayed because of weather issues, according to a court filing, resulting in his temporary restraining order (TRO) being extended another 10 days.

Meanwhile, the NCAA has filed a motion asking the judge overseeing the case to recuse himself, AL.com reported.

The NCAA's motion for Roberts to recuse himself, filed later Monday, asks the judge to step down amid questions about his objectivity, AL.com reported. Roberts and his wife are listed as active donors on the website for Alabama's Crimson Tide Foundation, which supports the university's athletics.

"The NCAA has faith in the judicial process and does not currently contend the Court has an actual bias, partiality, or prejudice," the NCAA wrote in its motion, according to AL.com. "Similarly, the NCAA does not allege that any actual bias motivated the Court's granting of a temporary restraining order. Instead, the NCAA contends that proceeding in this Court has created an impermissible appearance of impropriety because of the intense media scrutiny and public speculation surrounding the Court's relationship with the University of Alabama and its athletics programs and student-athletes."

Bediako played in his first college game in almost three years on Saturday against Tennessee, scoring 13 points in a 79-73 loss. Alabama hosts Missouri on Tuesday before heading to Florida on Sunday.

I am tragically bad at guessing the success of new hire coaches. I think saying "I called it" on Patricia would be disingenuous, that one was just obvious. Same goes for Hartline and Vrabel. Most of the time (like here) I have no idea, so I just hope Day made the right call and support it until there is reason to doubt it.
