All-Star Game

Gather round kids, while ol' cincibuck tells you about a game they used to play every August a long time ago.

See, they used to take 45 of the best college seniors, and form 'em up in late July to play a game in August against the NFL Champions and once in a blue moon this group of college buckaroos would show the old beards a thing or two. But mostly it was 42 to 7 in favor of the pros.

BUT the uniform for the All-Stars was incredible.

I'm stuck here in Ft. Worth, Texass, for a wedding and being put up at the Fort Work Club (est. 1885) a place with dress code printed out, so eastern hicks will understand that they have "standards" here in the Lone Star State. One of the features at the club is the Davey O'Brien Sports Lounge.

So, where is this going, Cinci? I hear you newbs asking.

Right here in the club is Davey's uniform from the time he was selected to play in the All Star game.
And then, as I poke around, I discover other treasures. Enjoy!

2026 Spring Practices, Spring Game, and other Tidbits

I love watching these two, Tony and Tom, and enjoying their bid heads, broad smiles, and brotherly chemistry.
I agree. Totally my favs on the beat. Especially since recruiting is less of an emphasis these days. I still think Birm is the best in the biz on the recruiting front, but for pure Buckeye entertainment value? Tom and Tony all day long.

Should semipro/college players be paid, or allowed to sell their stuff? (NIL and Revenue Sharing)

So, this bill in Congress essentially forces the B1G/SEC to share their media money with the poverty conferences while barring them from leaving the ncaa to do their own thing. HARD. PASS.

No, no, no.

The bill is to serve justice and stop athletes from being exploited.

Ted Cruz told me so

QB Kirk ‘Nightmare On’ Herbstreit (Frosted Quips, False Narratives Clown, Afraid of THE Lunatic Fringe)

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY… MONEY! Kirk Herbstreit is now on Cameo. For the low, low price of $349… goodness gracious… For the low, low price of $349, the former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN college football analyst will send personalized messages, from birthday wishes and pep talks to roasts and congratulations.

I'd pay 349 for him to read a script that I wrote.

2026 tOSU Offense Discussion

THE BEST IN THE B1G. Ohio State was well-represented in Phil Steele’s preseason All-American teams, with preseason National Offensive Player of the Year Jeremiah Smith, Julian Sayin, Austin Siereveld, Luke Montgomery, Earl Little Jr. and Dalton Riggs all earning recognition.

Phil Steele Preseason All-Big Ten
First Team Second Team Third Team Fourth Team
RB Bo Jackson QB Julian Sayin C Carson Hinzman K Connor Hawkins
WR Jeremiah Smith OG Luke Montgomery OT Phillip Daniels
OT Austin Siereveld DT John Walker DE Qua Russaw
S Earl Little Jr. LB Payton Pierce DE Kenyatta Jackson Jr.
LS Dalton Riggs CB Devin Sanchez LB Christian Alliegro
Ohio State placing four offensive linemen across the first three teams — Siereveld, Montgomery, Carson Hinzman and Phillip Daniels — stands out as a major indicator of what could be a dominant unit up front. If that group comes to fruition in 2026, the Buckeyes will be a problem for everyone.

Just sayin':
1. should be interesting to see what the new OC can do with these guys.
2. I would have thought Hinzman would be higher than 3rd team.
3. Wonder if Tegra Tshabola would have made at least 3rd team OG had he stayed
4. Conner Hawkins has to be an upgrade on Special Teams. Dalton Riggs must be the "real deal" too.

WR Bryson Rodgers (National Champion, transfer to USF)

BUCKEYE FOR LIFE. Bryson Rodgers is not one of ESPN’s top wide receivers in 2026, but he is one of my favorite pass catchers entering the college football season, if only because of a social media post he made Wednesday.

Even after transferring from Ohio State to USF this offseason, Rodgers still hates That Team Up North.
