You're probably right. But I don't have the numbers in front of me. The people who make the decisions only look at the money.
Notre Dame's current TV contract is $X per year.
Notre Dame could expect to get $X + $Y per year in a conference. Let's say Big Ten for geographical reasons. Plus, I think the $Y is the largest if they join the Big Ten, compared to the ACC or anyone else.
What do they make if they make the playoffs? Is it $Y or greater?

If it's greater than $Y, they're gambling that they make the playoffs every year.
If it's less than $Y, they shouldn't care about the playoffs.

Speaking of that;

Hector Rodriguez, 22 year old OF at AAA, in two years of combined AAA stats he's slashing .286/.339/.475. He has 26 HR THIS YEAR already. He's on the 40 man roster and the OF in front of him in Cincy suck dick like it's their job.

Never even a peep of this guy getting a call up. Are we so good in the OF that we don't need the help?

Not to diminish his dad's side, which everyone knows about, somewhere I have a bright red (although not quite scarlet) Tonga 2011 rugby world cup jersey with a white collar that I've got to find for Saturdays this fall. The island nations each have their own style. Fiji is like the '80s Showtime Lakers, but no one outworks the Tongans and they will hit you harder than you've ever been hit. He's going to bring that cultural ethos to Columbus.

Know/knew there were a bunch of fervent ND fans. Had a boss who had been accepted to ND, and showed his framed acceptance letter. Never went, but framed the darn thing. Back in my business days, never saw a ND grad as a CEO of major corporation, but maybe that's because the ND grads went to Harvard/Stanford etc for their MBA's. Anyway, guess was a tad naive about where the Domer's NIL money comes from. But since ND is recruiting on a par with the big money schools, would indicate that they have the deep pockets, so who cares where their money comes from. Maybe a special basket is passed in all Masses for a NIL donation for ND?

Riley being fired would obviously send a shockwave through cfb, I’m more looking at the recruiting ramifications. USC has a good bit of players that we wanted in this class and 2026.

The two obvious names for me are Elbert Hill and Luke Wafle, I’m not sure we would even be able to afford Wafle after Wilder, Jacobs, Fakatou and Smith. But what an insane room that would be.
