Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

From the Columbus Dispatch. Article is paywalled...

"The Nittany Lions’ wrestling program receives $1.5 million in athletic department revenue sharing money, which it uses to build its name, image and likeness portfolio to attract high school recruits and portal transfers while helping stop current wrestlers from leaving.

Ohio State wrestling receives no revenue sharing money. Football, men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball are the only OSU sports to share the $18 million, the bulk of which goes to football."

2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

I'm kind of done griping seriously about men's hoops. mainly because I'm a free rider and won't donate a cent of my own money to NIL for it. If I'm going to give $ to Ohio State, it's going to be for exclusively for academic or research purposes. That said, I assume that we don't invest sufficiently in women's hoops either, and, for all of McGuff's in-game limitations, at least the women, although they're not quite elite, know what they want to do, generally recruit to match the plan, execute the plan pretty well most of the time, and have quite a bit of success. The men's program is simply adrift.

Gotta laugh at the above. Everybody seems to want to say 'down with the king', but no one wants to put forth a plan. Prided myself (in working days), for having staff be able to come into my office, whenever, and complain, etc. Only stipulation was that, OK, if you want to kick something to the curb, must have at least one plan to make it better. If you just say 'kill the King', gotta have some sort of plan to replace said king. Apparently many of the posters above, and to fire Diebler, and then walk away and let someone else solve the problem of who's the next king(coach). And assuming many above are right, does Diebler take his NIL allotment, pay one very good player, or split into pieces to pay several adequate players. Seems like both have been tried, and currently been found wanting. Am betting that Diebs will be given another year, what with the 5* kid coming in, and enough NIL money to rent one or two significant contributors (bigs?) for the 2027 year. I love the game, and Ohio State, so will support whatever happens, but like the above, would like to see the bball team elevate to the level of the gridiron group.

There's no assurance of success with a new coach either. While that may be true I don't think that's a reason to keep holding onto a guy who's not getting it done in the amount of time warranted. Year 3 should absolutely be make or break for Diebler.

Thompson is a very good HS recruit but he alone does not even come close to fixing the issues the team as had the last few years. You can't expect 1 freshman to carry a whole team in this era either.

If they don't improve in the portal and do similar to this year and last next year's team probably ends up being worse with Thornton being gone. They need to be much better with evaluating the realistic options this year. To answer your question they are going to need several adequate players. If we end up with a handful of Cupps and Noel types its gonna be ugly

Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 20 Straight B1G Titles)

Just got back from Arizona working a tournament so missed most of weekends events. Excited for them to be in finals.

Does anyone know how many times they've won the indoor title? It's been a couple of times hasn't it?
If the title of this thread is accurate, three times.
