2025 NC OL David Sanders Jr. (Tennessee Verbal)

I know money is money...but that electric crowd and Frye showing he can develop OL had to at least be impactful. Also, spend what we can on this kid to make sure. Serious game changer. Hope there is traction here...
From what I've read, the NIL package between Tenn and OSU is very close, "other factors" were why he chose Tenn. Could be early PT, could be development, etc, but things seem to have swung in OSU's direction

I miss Wiltfong on Bucknuts. I like him more than Mark Porter
I like Porter's breakdown of HS talent. He seems to have a much better gauge of OH talent than anyone else. Especially since he actually goes to games.

NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

Dipshit for Dallas scored instead of just going down to end the game. Now the Redskins will get 1 more prayer
Came here to post that. There is hardly ever a more obvious time to NOT score than when you have a 1-point lead in the last minute and the opponent is out of timeouts, and you just came from the sideline to join the ‘hands team’ to receive a kickoff. If the coaches didn’t tell everybody that after Washington missed the XP, it’s no wonder the Cowboys suck.

Makes one appreciate the selflessness of TreVeyon even more.

NCAA Basketball: Green Bay at Providence

Eric Canha-Imagn Images

The Buckeyes welcome in Doug Gottlieb and Green Bay senior guard Anthony Roy, the nation’s leading scorer.

After a short break in between games, the Ohio State men’s basketball team is back and ready to take on Doug Gottlieb and the Green Bay Phoenix.

The Buckeyes are 4-1 overall and 3-0 at home, while Green Bay is 2-4 overall and 1-3 on the road. Since the Buckeyes’ 78-64 loss at No. 23 Texas A&M, they are 2-0, with an 80-30 win over Evansville and a 104-60 win over Campbell.

Doug Gottlieb was hired as the Green Bay head coach after spending time as a sports talk radio host and Sportscenter anchor. He is the now the head coach of the Phoenix and still does a sports talk radio show on FOX Sports.

Gottlieb played college basketball from 1995-2000 for Notre Dame and Oklahoma State, twice leading the nation in assists, and professional basketball (including USBL, leading the league in assists).

Preview

Ohio State’s freshman sensation John Mobley Jr. is leading the team in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game off the bench while playing just under 20 minutes per contest. He is already one of the best shooters in the country, shooting 59.3 percent from three-point range.

Junior point guard Bruce Thornton is averaging 13.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game on 54.1 percent shooting from the field and 43.8 percent from three-point range.

Sophomore forward Devin Royal is averaging 11.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, and senior guard Micah Parrish is averaging 10.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. Senior guard Meechie Johnson is averaging 9.6 points per game, but has struggled in the first five games this season with turnovers and — at times — shot selection.

Sophomore center Aaron Bradshaw is averaging 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He missed Ohio State’s game against game against Campbell on Friday after it was announced he was away from the team and not participating in team activities. There has been no new information on that as of Monday morning, and he is still away from the team.

As a team, Ohio State is shooting 43 percent from three-point range in five games thus far, and two of its top three scorers come off the bench.

Green Bay is led by the nation’s leading scorer, Anthony Roy, who is averaging 28.0 points per game. Roy also averages 5.7 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game on 52.5 percent from the field and 44.6 percent from three-point range.

The senior guard has scored 30 points or more in three games, with his season high of 35 points coming against Western Illinois in a 14-point win. He has scored over 30 points in Green Bay’s last two games.

Sophomore forward Marcus Hall is averaging 16 points, five rebounds, and two assists per game in 35.5 minutes per contest.

Jeremiah Johnson is a freshman guard who is averaging nine points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Foster Wonders and Preston Ruedinger are averaging 6.7 and 6.5 points per game, respectively.

Prediction

Green Bay is ranked No. 257 on KenPom. For reference, Evansville is No. 264, and Campbell is No. 279, so the matchup is comparable from an analytics and metrics standpoint. Green Bay lost to Evansville 98-81 last Friday and will play Campbell this coming Saturday.

This is the third of three games in a row that Ohio State needs to win and move on. They are the far superior of a team and so far, they have handled those teams with ease this season. They need to continue to do that as they head into a big game against Pittsburgh at home on Friday. The Panthers, who are 6-1 this season and are 17th in KenPom, will be the Buckeyes’ biggest test since Texas A&M.

I think the Buckeyes will win easily, and we will see more production from the deeper bench guys like Colin White, Austin Parks, and even Ivan Njegovan, who we have not seen much from.

Aaron Bradshaw, Sean Stewart, and Ques Glover all missed the Campbell game. Stewart and Glover are questionable to play, and Bradshaw will not play since he has not rejoined team activities.

2024 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

Where did you hear that?

Nothing that I’ve seen from the committee suggests that as a possibility

ND cannot be in the top 4 because they won't be a conference champion. The best ND can ever do is #5.
I think he just means skipping a CCG is a bye week, as it likely will be for Penn State, Indiana, and Tennessee.

But the ‘second bye’ is actually getting a seed between 5 and 8 and getting a home game, (which should just require a Top-6 ranking), also what is likely for Penn State. As you guys know, only the Top 4 among the Conference champions get a playoff bye week.

Once the Top-4 seeds complain about missing out from having a home game, and folks bitch about teams ranked somewhere from 9 to 20 getting a top-4 seed, the clamor to expand to 16 will start roaring again.

Game Thread tCun at tOSU, THE GAME, Sat. Nov. 30, 12pm ET, FOX

Starts in the trenches.

Up front against Grant, can't let him win. Good news is that he doesn't look great against Zone stretch. Gets reached one too many times. Downside is the rest of the weasel front flows and pursues quite well.

Can't let the big man eat like Harmon did in the Oregon game.

You've got The 'Shoe, you'll have the crowd noise. Be methodical, be patient, play field position, absolutely NO turnovers. Let these assholes blink first in a game of chicken, then capitalize on the mistakes and slowly squeeze the life out of them down the stretch.

This is already setting up like a nail biting, patient, war of attrition type Tresselball game.

I struggle to see many points being scored in the 1st half. But I need our corners to be ready to go. Can't help their terrible passing offense by giving them easy yards and cheap flags.

So, if ND beats USC, they could end up with a bye week because they don’t have a CCG, and then a second Bye because they’re the top independent and ranked in the top four.
And they don’t have to share their playoff money. Why would they ever join a conference?

OL Coach/Run Game Coordinator Justin Frye (Official Thread)

I've been as down on Frye as anyone and recruiting may still be an issue, but the job he's done so far this season with having to keep patching up the line, and them playing at the level they are deserves respect.

In the NIL era recruiting shouldn't matter. Spend some of that money and make sure you go at least 8 deep on the OL every year. Raid the MAC for the best few upper class OL every off season. If they learned anything this year hopefully it's spend more on the line.

Florida Gators (official thread)

Lawsuit Between Gators Billy Napier and Former Commit Gets New Update

Filed over half a year ago, a judge will soon hear arguments to dismiss the lawsuit

Back in May, former Florida Gators signee Jaden Rashada filed a $10 million lawsuit against Gators head coach Billy Napier, former Florida NIL director Marcus Castro-Walker and booster Hugh Hathcock.

On Wednesday, Dec. 18, a U.S. District Judge will hear arguments for multiple motions to dismiss the case. Back in July, Napier, Castro-Walker and Hathcock filed motions to dismiss the lawsuit.

According to Napier’s attorney, Hank Coxe III, Rashada’s own complaint shows that the Gators head coach was not involved with what occurred between Rashada and the Gator Collective.

“Nothing alleged in the complaint supports the notion that Napier participated in any wrongdoing,” Coxe wrote. “Nowhere does the complaint adequately allege, for example, that Napier knew about whatever occurred between Rashada, his ‘NIL agents’ and the Gator Collective, LLC.

Rashada’s 37-page lawsuit alleges that Napier, Castro-Walker and Hathcock all took part in deceiving him regarding an NIL deal worth $14 million, originally leading to Rashada flipping his commitment from the University of Miami to Florida. By switching his commitment to Florida, Rashada allegedly left $9.5 million on the table from the University of Miami.

Hathcock, a Gator “mega-booster”, was eventually no longer involved with the deal, leaving it in the hands of Gator Collective, now known as Florida Victorious. With Hathcock no longer contributing, Gator Collective reached out to Rashada in an attempt to terminate the deal. Despite Gator Collective’s attempt to terminate the deal, Rashada’s lawsuit alleges that Napier and Castro-Walker continued to assure him that the deal would remain intact.
