2026-27 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Yeah, based on the bigs OSU was going after in the portal, it seems they are counting on Ojianwuna to be the main man there. Plus, they wanted a stretch F/C to help fit the offense perhaps better than JO does.
Also as we saw 2 years ago you have to be careful with the transfers you bring in. Less someone you weere counting on goes into the portal last minute.

Not the type of big I was hoping for. Hopefully O is ready to go
It seems pretty clear they are expecting him to be ready.

If he is, and he is able to be close to the player he was at Baylor, this guy gives Ohio State a changeup at the 5 off the bench. Spread the floor and let the shooters shoot and Bynum get to the hoop.

Look Who's Transferring Now (The Basketball Portal)

#1 rated transfer C Flory Bidunga is reportedly asking for $5M for one season. Duke is involved.
Saw one place where he was ranked the #9 C in the draft and was projected to be a late first round pick. If he can get $4-5M for one year, he should definitely stay in college.

I do like Justin Pippen to be a starter for OSU. You have to remember Juni Mobley is limited defensively, so anyone you are going to pair with him in the backcourt for any length of time must be a strong defender. Pippen is in the 90th+ percentile in block and steal percentage, also an elite assist man.

“He projects as a combo guard at Ohio State who’ll take a role similar to the departed Devin Royal.”

I know Royal didn’t play either guard position so is Thamel referring to the role of average 3-point shooter?
Yeah, that's the part I wanted to clap back on. No way is he comparable to Devin Royal. Justin Pippen is a combo guard. Devin Royal is a tweener SF/PF. You could see Justin Pippen play at the 3 possibly in a small lineup but that is unlikely to be where he fits in most of the time.
