Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Ohio State picks up D1 heavyweight state champ, Cliff Nicholson from Medina. 47-1 and won a D1 championship.
Really nice pickup. Watched his state finals match and my quick takeaways are that he's got some room on the frame for good weight (but likely on the smaller side of the HWT class), moves very well circling with his opponent and changing levels, and appears pretty decent wrestling on the mat. Not sure how he'll stack up with the elites, but it's a welcome addition.

2027 CA WR Blake Wong (BYU Verbal)

He's pretty underrated imo, reminds me of another borderline 4 star WR we got from Cali who's last name rhymes with suave. Not just those two attributes, but his seamlessness in and out of routes, polish and build. WANT.

Lane Kiffin (HC LSU)

thank god we haven't had one of those

yeah you did, you just overlook it when he's wearing your colors.

I mean Urban Meyer was a complete shitbag at every other stop in his career, so odds are, he was while in Columbus too.

edit to add:
I'm not judging, I've just accepted long ago that college football is a sleazy business and coaches for the most part tend to fit the sleazy mold quite well.

How's the weather?

we've gotten somewhere around 1/2" of rain so far last night / this morning.
which is triggering flash flood warnings and some localized street flooding.

HALF OF AN INCH
and we have some street flooding :slappy:

been here over 3 years now and it still amazes me just how little rain ever falls here and the regions complete inability to handle it.

Lane Kiffin (HC LSU)

he gets a lot more hate than he should in this department.

other than his Tennessee exit, he's never made a move that other coaches wouldn't have made while trying to climb the ladder.

He got a HC job in the NFL when he was too young, still very immature, and obviously not ready....that ended in a firing.
then the Tennessee Fiasco.
USC was a tough spot. on probation with scholarship reductions, so not nearly as successful as they'd hoped...fired.

but look at his career path since then....

OC at a Power 5 school (3 seasons)
Head Coach of a Group of 5 School (3 Seasons)
Head Coach of a Power 5 School below the top tier (6 Seasons)
Head Coach at a destination type job.

people bash him for "burning bridges" and "lack of loyalty"

but nobody says shit about Deboer
whose path looks like ...

OC at Power 5 school (1 season)
Head Coach at Group of 5 school (3 seasons)
Head Coach at a Power 5 school (2 seasons)
Head Coach at a Destination type job
maybe it's about more than job jumping. maybe being a twatbag has a lot to do with it.
