HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

You can limit the players ability to earn a living right after you do the same to the coaches.

Show me one coach who has ever gone on one of their moralizing rants and said other coaches need to be restricted in movement and income.

Just one please.

You can't

Sorry Ryan, I know you are probably coming from a good place but coaches don't have the right to a soap box on this while you have Lane Kiffin in your fraternity.

Deciding When to Retire

I have heard a number of folks very pleased with the health pgms they are buying at Costco...

ACA differs by state and you'd better know exactly what is in there.. I got major burned to the tune of well into 6 figures because the ACA that 'replaced my BCBS' that I was told was it's close replacement was monumentally different.. Some ACA plans only cover in-state doctors and in small states like NJ the best of the best are in NYC and Phily. You learn that when the bills come

ACA will have monumental changes in the next couple years.. The changes will be massive.. Expect very good things... Dramatic improvements and much lower costs.

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

Speaking Tuesday on Josh Pate’s College Football Show, Day voiced support for the NCAA potentially adopting a mandatory two-year commitment for student-athletes before entering the transfer portal.

“I feel pretty strong about that. I do,” he said.

The Ohio State head coach acknowledged such a change would create “ripple effects in other areas,” meaning the NCAA and its various committees would need to weigh several factors before implementing a two-year requirement.

Just sayin': The NIL genie and transfer genie are both out of their bottles and you won't get them back in. Limiting transfers would ultimately reduce a player's total amount of NIL money a player could amass over his/her college career. Unfortunately, I can't see the NCAA ever adopting that. Sadly, if the NCAA adopts the 5-in-5 rule you are going to see some players transfer 5 times......
Only way they can is if congress gets involved.

Ok you can stop laughing now.

Coyle signs 6-year, $36 million contract to stay with Blue Jackets

Charlie Coyle signed a six-year, $36 million contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday. It has an average annual value of $6 million.

The 34-year-old center had 58 points (20 goals, 38 assists) in 82 games with the Blue Jackets this season, his first with them after being acquired in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche on June 27, 2025.

"I've seen what we have," Coyle said. "I've seen our potential and I'm excited for it and it's something I want to be here for and work towards and the team we have, the depth we have, it's something that excites me and something that I want to be a part of going forward, and something that we can build because it's there. I know it's there."

Coyle could have become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

"When you go back to last year when we made the trade for Charlie, we said we were looking for a right-hand shot center and certainly we were happy to make the trade," Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell said. "But then having Charlie all this year, getting to know him as a not only as a player, but as a person, we knew that he cares about the team, cares about winning, and cares about the community so when we met at the end of the season and talked to all the players, Charlie was very clear that if there's that opportunity and we can work it out, he'd like to stay."

Craig Morton, Super Bowl starter for Cowboys and Broncos, dies

Craig Morton, who spent 18 years in the NFL and became the first quarterback to start the Super Bowl for two franchises -- the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos -- died over the weekend at 83.

Morton died Saturday in Mill Valley, California, the Broncos confirmed through his family.

Morton is one of only four QBs to start the NFL's biggest game with two organizations. The other three -- Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Kurt Warner -- all ended up with at least one win. Morton's only Super Bowl ring came as a backup.

2026-27 Ohio State Men's Basketball

7-3 Home (Maryland, Northwestern, Oregon, Rutgers, Washingon, Iowa, Penn State)

3-7 Away (Minnesota, Penn State, toss up USC/IU/Iowa/UCLA).

0-2 vs. that team up north. They’re building a different program than we are here.
I do see Purdue taking a massive step back this season, so winning in Mackey is much more feasible than it's been of late. IMO they'll have a decent shot at 9-1 in the B1G at home. Not saying they'll be wins, but potentially winnable B1G road games are Minny, PSU, Iowa, UCLA, Nebraska and Purdue. The group of @ UM, USC, IU, ILL are TOUGH.

Deciding When to Retire

and in light of @Jagdaddy post as well as earlier posts about financial advisors.. I can't stress enough to ensure your advisor is experienced.. and I'd say, practicing during the 2008 crush... and ideally in 2002 as well... because when the market hits the inevitable 'adjustment' newer advisors will still be focused on 'growth' ie lassoing new clients and you could be collateral damage by the distraction... experienced advisors will more likely be more focused on their accts.. they always are aware of clients ranked by their assets.. and when it hits, they will address them highest to lowest in order..

you can go to FINRA.org and look the advisors up by name and firm.. that will tell you how long they have been practicing and if there are any blemishes on their record.. next ask your advisor how many accts are they servicing... if they say anything over 150 accts be cautioned because when it hits they can probably get to 20-30 accts a day and if they have 400 accts, lots of accounts are gonna get crushed before you get a call.. some of these advisors could have 1000 accounts.. that means the last folks in that list aren't being serviced for 2 months post thus are toast
