2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

One thing about OSU's season that's probably vastly overlooked is the Buckeyes played Notre Dame when the Irish had their leading scorer, Burton. He was injured just 10 games into the season and they were without him the remainder of the season. They were 7-3 with Burton playing, and have won just 6 games since his injury (with a shocking home loss to IPFW). Beating Notre Dame with Burton was actually a solid win for the Buckeyes, it just didn't hold up due to their best player getting injured December 5th.

Well, since the games are being played indoors, don't much care. As an oldster, changing time zones is a problem, but as a youngster, doesn't impact as much. Still, none of those cities are a bus ride. Does tOSU air force have a G-5?
I have no clue, but my official prediction is OSU goes to Greenville, SC to be "fodder" for Duke.

OL Taylor Decker (All B1G, B1G OL of Year, All American, B1G Champion, National Champion, Pro Bowl, Detroit Lions)

Well, there's taxes, rep commission, and you know, $5 million just doesn't go as far these days.....but yeah, putting away $1 million a year, would yield $10 million (w/o compounding), and that might provide a comfortable living just on its own. And no, don't know what kind of retirement plan the NFL gives. Maybe they match a 401k?

CB Devin Sanchez (Official Thread)

I'd bet one could count on one hand the number of times a freshman came in and starred on tOSU football team. Certainly, someone will prove me wrong , but the point being that just being on the field as a frosh requires talent, and knowledge, else the coaches wouldn't play you. Hopefully he'll continue to get better, and play better. Do so enjoy the way the CBs progress, with an experience CB on one side, and a newbie on the other, and then next year, the newbie becomes the experienced, and another takes his place.

S&C Coach Anthony Schlegel (Official Thread)

Do so enjoy that tOSU brings back former players to coach, administer, etc. the athletic programs at their alma mater. Has certainly paid dividends with Hartline and Laurinaitis (sp?) as frontline coaches. Coach Mick and Mark Pantoni have been here so long, they should be considered Buckeyes since birth (almost). Wonder if Schlegs is going to sit in JL's LB room on occasion? Go Bucks!

Ravi Bellamkonda, tOSU President

Surprise. Surprise. Surprise. An internal hire hasn't happened at tOSU, well if you except Gorden Gee, who seems to always be lurking around. Don't understand much of his credentials, but after reading the above posters, seem acceptable to me. Being elevated from the #2 to the Big Chair, well that says something. Always thought the #2 handled the athletic portion of tOSU, until a picture or handshake is needed. As an MBA that earned that sheepskin when the program was rated in top 25, would really like to see tOSU flex some muscle and elevate it's programs into being top recognizable programs in the nation. Not entirely certain how that can occur, given the undergraduate rules we live under. PS, having gone to Miami U as undergrad, freshman class was limited to dorm space, as Oxford was/is tiny. C'bus, has plenty of apartment opportunities, let alone a huge number of fraternities/sororities with living space. Just a bon mot. Maybe this cat can make that happen, we'll see. Or, maybe he'll be content to guide this ship, making no waves.

2027 OH OL Davis Seaman (Verbal Offer)

Certainly agree that Indiana reset the world of college expectations. Who woulda thunk that kids, mostly from JMU, could come in and beat the best of the college world. I'd love it if someone (else) would do the work to quantify how 5* OL do from HS to pro draft. Probably a Pantoni has had his staff do this, which fomented strategy to save the loot, and maybe 'buy' two 4* OL, and train them up. Probably a higher Return on Investment over the long run.
Its not that a bunch of kids from JMU beat the CFB world. Its that a HC found a loophole that the NCAA was relaxing their age limits. All of us know for the most part an older player will have a better success rate than a younger one. It was great showing the post of the Miami OT that was 6'8 370lbs going up against the IU DL that was like 6'1 290, but it goes back to the family dynamics. Think of being the big brother and your little brother out grows you, you still know ways to beat his arse, regardless of size for the most part
