2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

Lesmerises and Landis highlighted that outside of the OL, they are not a physically imposing team and called them ACC tough. That’s their identity in the ACC, let’s see how that works now (and as I noted above, they didn’t impose their will for 55 minutes against a paper tiger overly reliant on blitzing A&M team and had three nice runs on their final drive).

100 yards for Fletcher is okay in those first 55 minutes, but they resulted in three total points, even with gifted short fields, he wasn’t exactly grinding them when it counted for a vast majority of the game.
Exactly why it’s ridiculous that people are like “oh shit Miami has the best OL”.

What the hell are people talking about? Outside of one run they basically had 200 yards of offense vs AM.

I’m sorry but if your losses are to SMU and Louisville while playing in a terrible ACC maybe just keep quiet until you see the game play out.

I won’t lie. I don’t feel good about this game for some reason. Maybe it’s because we are the big favorites but I felt similar before Tennessee and Texas last year. Shoot I even dreamed we lost the game last night. We can lose this game and I think there’s bigger odds than maybe most of us think (myself included after I originally thought it’d be a blowout).

I don’t know what to attribute the new found doubt too but who knows. All I will say is if we do the ordinary things we’ll be fine. No turnovers, limit penalties, don’t allow big plays in special team.

If you just make every drive hard on Miami I think we’ll win the game and be just fine.

2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

'The season ends Jan. 1': Dan Lanning reiterates CFP overhaul

Oregon coach Dan Lanning reiterated his desire to see the college football season end Jan. 1 every year, not only to fix the sport's calendar but also to decrease the long layoff between games for playoff teams with a bye.

During the final news conference Wednesday before the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl, Lanning was asked about what changes could be made to alleviate issues that have affected multiple CFP teams, including coordinators taking head coaching jobs and the transfer portal opening Jan. 2.

"Every playoff game should be played every single weekend until you finish the season," Lanning said. "Even if it means we start Week 0 or you eliminate a bye, the season ends Jan. 1, and then the portal opens, then coaches that have to move on to their next opportunities get to move to their next opportunities."

Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein (Kentucky) and defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi (California) are juggling their responsibilities for the Ducks and their new schools. So is Ohio State offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Brian Hartline, the new coach at USF.

"Our national championship game this year is Jan. 19, and that's really hard to envision as a coach that's going out and trying to join a new program and start a staff," Lanning said. "It's hard for players to understand what continuity looks like and where they're going to be at and to manage that with visits, the portal, everything else that exists. The clear way to do that is to bump the season up and make sure these playoff games happen a lot faster."

Lanning has said multiple times that playing in the first round last week against James Madison helped his team stay in rhythm, though after the win he lamented that Oregon didn't meet "a standard of performance" during the Ducks' 51-34 victory.

Last season, Oregon was the No. 1 seed in the CFP and had a longer layoff, losing in the quarterfinals 41-21 to Ohio State. All four teams that had a first-round bye last season lost in the quarterfinals.

2025 Cotton Bowl BMW Thread: tOSU vs FairWeatherConvicts Led by this Generation's Chuck Amato

Can you guys be frank with me? Have you ever been so excited for a night game, you drank yourself stupid and woke up during the 3rd quarter or something and missed the game entirely?

Just asking, I’ve done it once or twice throughout the years watching this team. Really hoping I’m not alone.
Funny you ask this. I wake up most mornings at 4am so that I can workout before work. On the way into work today at 6am I thought to myself “guarantee there’s people in Dallas already feeling a buzz after their first drink thinking they better start pacing themselves”.

I’ve never missed a game but certainly no doubt have been too excited for a game and just over did it.
