Should semipro/college players be paid, or allowed to sell their stuff? (NIL and Revenue Sharing)

I don't like the system, but I'm not for wage control, I'm for contracting. Lock the players into some kind of years of service requirements and punishments/payback for reneging on them; Limit NIL benefits to once ever, "sure you can transfer schools, but you already got your NIL money, so you can't go chase more money" etc.
Up to this point it’s been a private citizen and a private business engaging in a contractual relationship. You can put whatever clawback provisions in there you want to.

The market decides on how attractive those clawbacks are however. OSU has clawbacks, Oregon money is fully guaranteed? Guess where kids might be going. Probably why we haven’t heard of them being a major sticking point for anyone. No one can out them in if everyone doesn’t put them in.

2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

One also would wonder (yeah, guess maybe only me?) which school might include graduate admission (medical, legal, business, ?) as an incentive? A well-paying job for mom and/or dad certainly, especially to the tweener in playing ability might move the needle one way or another. For a player truly looking to the future, this grad school incentive would be special.

2026 MD DE Zion Elee (Maryland Verbal)

In the immortal words of Yogi, 'it ain't over, until it's over'. Again, the question is how much money does it take to overtake the hometown/state advantage? Wonder if tOSU will take a run at this guy, as LJsr might be getting a bit desperate. Also wonder how much pressure Day puts on him to 'keep up' with his other recruiters? Can visualize this year as being the turning point, what with an entire new DL, which will see how well LJsr does with these players. But have learned (?) not to underestimate LJsr, who appears to be the energizer bunny of coaches.

tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Believe back in the day of 85 scholarship limit, was a much bigger issue than today, when shall we say, total # is liquid? Heard that coaches do sit down and pour over the positions, and position coaches talk about who's coming up, who's riding even, and who's not holding up their position, and might be when 'the talk' occurs, re playing time (now include NIL $). Have also read that position coaches start with the current players, and project them as to where their ceiling (?) may be, before the current/future recruiting season starts (that point in time is very blurred these days).

Earle Bruce (OSU HOF, CFB HOF, R.I.P.)

Earle went 5-4 in The Game.

Cooper couldn’t win it even after the excuses about the roster he inherited were far in the past.

Lost 3 games a year and tOSU basically faded from any type of national presence. Because he's a mediocre coach.

tOSU has been a national player almost every year since 1993. Thanks to Cooper.
